Hi all!

Yesterday, Google announced that all of its coding competitions will be discontinued, which made me really sad. Google Hash Code, in particular, has been very dear to my heart, since there are no other contests quite like it.

To lighten the mood a bit, and also get a bit sentimental, my team has done a write-up of our strategy in last year's final, where we reached the 8ᵗʰ place by using the weirdest strategy we've ever used in a programming competition.

Here you can read the story of why we spent the last 30 minutes of the contest playing games instead of coding!

This is the coolest hashcode strategy I've ever heard of.

Thanks! It's just too bad that we will never get to use it again in Hash Code. :(

Cool! If you had been on our team, it seems like we would have finished 6ᵗʰ instead!
