  1. I was accepted to 0 universities, out of the 0 I applied to.
  2. Did well in a couple of national olympiads, idk wrote a symphony or two
  3. On Google, same as anyone else
  4. There is none, the messiah Charlie Kirk knows what he's talking about
  5. Don't do it. Universities are a scam designed by billionaires to keep poor people crippled with student loans, and for political indoctrination.
  6. Still being of school age

You didn't mention where are you from and what universities you even consider applying to. Generally, universities are a scam unless you must have a degree to get a job like it is in some countries.

Importantly, from some universities you might get to ICPC, although top-tier unis probably have their teams packed with .001% talents.

In regards to your questions, i think my answers wouldn't provide anything, given that we're likely at the opposite sides of the earth and don't have each others options.

Good luck and take care :)

I chose not to specify the university and country, as I prefer to seek advice from others before making my decision.

  1. Stanford (among others, but I don't really wanna dox myself).
  2. Did research, volunteering, ran a high school club, worked during the school year & summer, did a research-y summer program. I do music production on the side and that takes most of my time.
  3. I don't know about out of country scholarships, but big ones include the Gates Scholarship, the Jack Kent Cooke Scholarship, the Bryan Cameron, among a lot others (actually I'm pretty sure my international friend got the Gates Scholarship, so it might be available to anyone). Generally, if you make under $100,000 USD yearly these schools will cover your cost of college, so your family is expected to pay nothing.
  4. Honestly, idk bro. You'll hear this a lot but it's really the people. The research is always going to be top-tier, the workload will always be rigorous, etc. That's true for plenty of colleges. But the people make the place, and Stanford people are really chill.
  5. Honestly just apply to whatever universities you're slightly interested in, and then once you get in or not, the decisions to choose between them will be different. Often you'll be excited to go to a college that you previously weren't interested in.
  6. Overthinking. I'm one of those people who think their writing is never good enough, so I write and rewrite without actually having a purpose behind it. I think now I just realized I should've just applied without thinking so much about it because most of the things I worried about didn't really matter.
  7. Advice: You'll be happy at plenty of colleges -- don't give into the idea of a "dream college", because people glaze a lot (esp. the ivy league), and there's really no objective metric for all of this glazing. Whatever happens happens, and when you're applying just try to accept that.
