First, congratulations ,to all CF members, the New Year!
Maybe, this blog will be boring for you,but I have a wish to share with you impressions from this year's contests.Everything started slowly,I was only newbie and I didn't see how I can improve my programming skills.Always I spent all time to solve one or two problem on the contests. However I was sure that I will succeed on our country competition, and then BUM!I didn't pass the Regional cometition!I was near the border, but had 10 points less!
After that I started to work harder,I learned some algorithms,I learned some data structures(BIT,Heap,Segment Tree,dsu...) and I had a lot of codeforces competitions where I can get new experience. Also, one important thing in all contests is hacking. On every competition I thought about some special cases and watching other codes.I won points and also I saw some good ways to implement solution.

Now,I know that a long way front of me.I will continue to work and I hope that one day become red! In my country competitons haven't start yet,but I hope I can at least pass the regional competition :) I will try to solve some harder problems and show that I deserve yellow. I'd like to mention If Codeforces team let,my friend and I are going organize one CF round!
Thanks for reading, and I hope that people who are currently weaker than me get one more motive to work.

I think it would be more logical to write a blog about becoming red from yellow. Otherwise, it would be mostly duplicate of this text.

I think it's because you posted it in code (I don't know how you did that because I've never posted a blog) and the colors are because of strings (contractions) which make the color green, capital letters which result in purple color, and keywords (and, or, this, for) which result in blue color.

After the final contest 2014, I'm very disappointed.

But see what you've done during this year, I have more confidence to believe that I could do something next year.

Thank you very much.

Hope you will have a new year with more success. allllekssssa

Indeed, my rating took a heavy crash after Round #270 and scarred my confidence and I hardly took any contests after that. But I realize I just need patience and hard work along with more contest experience :), then I can achieve my goal of becoming yellow. Oh wait i'm red...

and I hardly took any contests after that

When you fail a contest — you improve; when you miss a contest — you don't.

Therefore if you want to have a good rating — you should be focused on your skill level, not on your rating itself.

Unfortunately, the way it works for most humans is "success promotes interest in a topic, failure decreases interest in that topic".

For me, it's the exact opposite — I need to keep seeing a clear way to progress, i.e. fail and try and try, while all being easy bores me to death.

Please change your rank. I am missing your interesting(!) comments because of your handle's color :P

Congratulations, pal!

Your story is similar to mine. I was green on March, and I became International Master last month after doing a good contest. Unluckily, I wasn't careful with overflow in problem D of Good Bye 2014, so my rating went down again. I'll keep practicing, studying and trying hard and, just like you, see if I can become red in the future. It's always been a dream for me...

天使 wishes you all the luck! がんばってねぇ!

Thanks, I hope to see you with higher rating than me soon ! As you can notice, my rating hasn't gone up after this blog, but It doesn't mean I stop with progress or I didn't learn new things, only my abillites without full feedback are worse than before. I am not careful very much, also in last year I spent more time on inventing and solving that problems, the last thing teachers in school didn't have respect for this kinds of activity :)

Anyway, you can be much much better than me only you need to do more contests and learn some usual and not very hard algorithms at first :)

    Best wishes !
