Final round of 3rd Bayan Programming Contest will be held on Friday, May 1st 2015. The setup time starts at 7:00am IRST, and the round begins at 8:00am IRST.
Awards and certificates of previous rounds' winners will be shipped after the onsite event.
Contestants will be using their own laptops during the competition. We will also provide a monitor, a keyboard and a mouse for each participant.
We will be reaching out to finalists about their flight and accommodation details through email.
We've done our best in preparing the software and hardware infrastructure, and assuring the quality of the problemset, so we hope everyone would enjoy the event!
We'll release the problemset publicly after the closing ceremony.
You aren't going to pay for all finalists' trips and accommodations, but now you're raffling trips? Interesting choice of priorities...
Years of preparation and when you get "there", "they" prefer a photo! Is it a joke ?
As mentioned earlier in our Prizes section:
The leading contestant of top 20 countries will be invited to the on-site events. All accommodation expenses are covered by Bayan. Flight expenses of top 10 participants are covered as well.
It looks as though photo lottery is cancelled? I suppose it was too short notice to work anyhow.
Has anyone actually received a T-Shirt? I'm still waiting for one...
And how about now, has anyone actually received a T-shirt?
Take a look at this
This is less than 50 days from now... Please send the invitations soon, I have heard that it is not that easy to get an Iranian visa.
There is visa on arrival for most countries as I understand
Finally an announcement ... !
Flight expense are so high. Seem like I cannot afford it.
Have you been contacted about this? ("We will be reaching out to finalists about their flight and accommodation details through email.") It seems they did not reach out to me yet.
Not yet. Only less than a month and still no e-mail.
I think they should send all the details to us soon or their schedule might have to be change.
I also haven't been contacted yet.
(I have been contacted)
Here's some advice for the next year, you DONT have to hold your contests on your own poor servers :|. You can hold them in Codeforces. In your last contest, I wasted my whole time on A and finally it got first AC after rejudging.
I agree that their servers aren't good. Really ! I do ! :D But I have to say that in the last contest, the problem with A wasn't because of the poor server, It was because of a mistake in the solution so some participants randomly got AC and some got WA. And although I think that it was a really big mistake and they had to be much more careful, I guess it was kinda your fault if you waste all your time on problem A! When you can't get Ac, you should let it go and focus on the other problems. :)
I didn't mean servers are bad because of A. But when I got AC, I also got the penalty for the next 5 AC submissions. That's really bad. It should have count only the penalty of the first submission (because I got first AC).
Ooops... Really? I didn't know that! That's really bad!
Yet that don't make their severs poor, that's a software problem, not a hardware problem :)
*doesnt ;-""""""
Wish I could have my expense reimbursement too. From Korea it's so far away T_T
Anyway thank you for keep operating the great contest :)
So they do invite more people than they announce before?
Sorry. I have no idea on what's going on now, as Egor told. :(
Hey, you might misunderstanding something. I noticing that you are not on the finalist in the first place. So just curious if they really invite more people.
If they do invite you, congrats. And let's meet there :)
Messaged about my status. Thank you for your congrats! :D
Can you please respond to my e-mail?
Have they respond to your e-mail? I still have no answer to mine :(
Yep. Seems like they go through e-mail bi-weekly
Same status for here.
To get a reply, a good method is to ask a question without answering their question at the same time. Then they will answer your question much faster (just after a few days), and remind you to answer their question quickly to save time.
At least that's what Swistakk did. Anyway, I have just asked my question again, and I have received my answer :) See you in Tehran!
In our 2013 final we had 10 participants from 6 countries, but this year including the reserved contestants, we have to handle 45 invitations from 32 countries. 2 dedicated staffs have been allocated to this job. And we have just added 2 more staffs to get it done faster! :)
