Dears,

I would like to know if there is a "syllabus" that the problem setters follow to create the problems.

I know IOI has one (found at: http://ioi2017.org/files/ioi-syllabus-2017.pdf).

Not sure about ACMICPC.

What about codeforces?

Thanks!

I don't know about the detail of the syllabus, but as far as see this, you should be at least blue. (Blue with >= 25 contests, Purple with >= 15 contests, Orange with 5 contests, or Red needed)

Hi, thanks. But I would like to know about the topics in scope for the problems that are set on codeforces.

Like the one found here: http://ioi2017.org/files/ioi-syllabus-2017.pdf

PS: I am not sure why I got downvotes for my post though. In my opinion, it is a legitimate question. Unless it is an insult to some members of the codeforces community.

The closest thing I've seen to a syllabus was this blog entry with a list of topics and links to questions on these topics. http://codeforces.net/blog/entry/55274

Thanks for sharing. It can be a useful checklist for Div2 coders like me =)

That pretty much answers this post. In short, expect the unexpected!
