Codeforces Round X

There is a codeforces round X coming up. Is this a new thing in CF, or have similar rounds already taken place on CF?

Does anyone know what it is about?

My guess is that the "X" stands for a round whose number hasn't been decided yet — problems and a date have been proposed but coordinators don't know if anyone would want to hold a round before it.

    That may be true, but I have seen round numbers being changed recently. I remember a div 1s number being increased by 1 after a div2 round was conducted in the middle.

      It's roughly one entire month in the future, so probably many things aren't decided about this particular contest. Maybe they didn't even decide the division (1,2,3,4) so they just wrote a placeholder?

      However previously what I've seen was just "Codeforces Round" and not "Codeforces Round X", so I guess I'm just patiently waiting about more information.

Maybe it is a next Global Round, as it is 2:30 hour long and Global Round 9 was also same 2:30 hour long
