There have been a lot of tournaments that have received a lot of low votes recently. While I personally don't think it's appropriate to vote low for the efforts of the tournament preparers, it's enough to see how the crowd is taking a stand on the quality of these tournaments.

I think the easiest way to judge whether a tournament is good or bad is to see if the high level people can get good results and the low level people can get slightly worse results. If you can't even do that, I think it's probably fair to say the tournament had an interesting title, but definitely not a good tournament.

Lately I can clearly feel that the balance of some competitions is getting worse and there is a clear span of difficulty in the questions, which leaves only the speed of coding to measure one's level, but that is inaccurate. Problems should cover all levels, not be forced to sit for a "punishing" hour after doing all the easy problems in one hour.

Hopefully codeforces will change the question review system to get a better, more quality competition.
