Was it rescheduled? Here it says 21:30 IST as well as in email they sentIt seems to be a mirror for those who are not advanced
This is an open contest for those who could not qualify for the elimination round. It happens in parallel with the main contest with a delay of 90 mins.
The name of the contest should reflect that it is a mirror. I also thought that the contest has been rescheduled as only this contest is shown in the future contest list.
Probably "open" intended to mean that, but I agree that's not descriptive enough
Yes, open was meant for that. But we agree mirror is a better term. Will be using that for future such contests.
your t-shirts only for indians?
No. They will be for the global top 10 in the mirror contest.
Only in the mirror contest, or also in the normal one?
I'm terribly confused by your website. After registering for the Open contest, I realized that this is actually the parallel round for people who didn't qualify. I don't see how to unregister. I don't know why the actual contest appears in the "compete" list but not in the "contest" list. I also don't know how 1623 people registered for the contest even though the schedule says that only 1500 people can qualify for it.
Some extra teams qualified from round 1C. The reason is mentioned on their website, please check. Also, I think the standings and the URL of the two parallel contests will be different because they start at different times. So I don't think you need to unregister :)
For the open (mirror) contest, the registration is open for everyone.
The registration for the actual contest is done by us. No user needs to register for it.
The reason 1623 people are registered for it, is because in the last round, there were weak test cases due to which we had to add more people. You will get the details here: https://www.facebook.com/CodeChef/posts/10152955254267799.
We regret the confusion. Let us know your team, we will delete your team from the open (mirror) contest.
Thanks for the explanation, sorry for my mistake. My team is pinkybrain.
I think you should not have made a open round when you had 3 qualifying rounds. Apart from greatly increasing the confusion, it just sends a very wrong message, like decreases worth of qualifying rounds or indirectly says that top people didn't participate, so you want them to participate by open contest.
That's not the message we wanted to send. The open round is for those people who could not qualify. Top or bottom does not matter. It is about making those have a taste of the problems at almost the same time as those who qualified.
If we sent out the wrong message, then that is probably because we announced things very late. The decision was taken at the last moment for those who missed out in this round to have some fun. That is it. It is in no way going to dilute the original one!
It is always nice to have parallel rounds for people who can't participate officially for any reason, maybe they have already qualified for the next stage or maybe they got eliminated at some previous stage. At the end of the day we are all here because problem-solving is fun and why deprive anyone of fun?
I am curious though why there were no parallel rounds held for 1B and 1C for people who had already qualified.

I am getting this error when I am clicking the elimination round.
Are you qualified for it? If no, then you would not be able to see that! If yes, then you need to be logged in. If you are qualified, logged and still get this message, then you need to give me your team id so that we can find what the issue is.
I did not read the rules clearly, I thought being in 500 will result in next round, so did not took part in contest 1c but later read that only 400 Indians team are allowed. Thanks BTW. And am I right about the rule which I know now?
if you are in any of the 3 lists below then you are qualified: http://snackdown.codechef.com/scoreboard
If not, then you can still take part in this contest: http://www.codechef.com/SD15ELOP
Have fun! :)
Thanks, It was my fault I again did mistake in reading the rules. Will be careful from next time.
When can I find the editorials?
