Hi codeforces community,
3 years ago, i posted this blog
It's been such a long time since the creation of the post, I'm glad to see some of the newer replies telling the story of what CP has meant for them.
I'm now in my third year of university, and mostly do software engineering and trying contribute to some open source I find cool :)
Reflecting back on it now, I feel the same way about CP :) it was an amazing "detour" in my life. The sad, happy, fun, stressful, all accumulate to the experience of Competitive Programmming.
I see more and more how having good basics in Competitive Programming has helped me tremendously in terms of how I solve problems, so if anybody else were wondering if CP is fun? I'd say that the best answer is yes and no, like all things in life, it's not binary where everything is 0 and 1.
You will have fun experiences, you will have stressful experiences, you will maybe have bad experiences with some of the people you meet, you will also meet some amazing, dedicated people. So if you have the chance to pursue it (especially if you're still in high school or less), it's a really amazing opportunity to try!
Best Regards :)
Some memories over the years:
