Need help in a "meet in the middle problem"

The question is [this](https://www.hackerrank.com/contests/w21/challenges/borrowing-money). It appeared in the latest Hackerrank Week of Code. I went through the editorial and implemented my [solution](http://ideone.com/ipaB6s). But it fails for some 10 — 12 test cases. What is wrong with my solution? ↵
