Hey everyone! Hope you are having a good coding spree,

You might not remember me but I was very active here about 5 years ago. I've recently been invited to interview by Shayan who was briefly one of my brightest students and I'm happy to be interviewed by him soon. If you want me to answer any questions in the interview, feel free to comment below or ask on Shayan's Discord Channel. The interview will be available in Shayan's Youtube Channel.

I'll give you a little bit of background about myself:

  • I was born and raised in Iran.
  • I participated in various competitions, including IOI, ICPC. Got a gold medal at IOI 2016 and funnily enough afterwards got a silver medal at IOI 2017.
  • After high school, inspired by one of my close friends who got into MIT, I decided to do my bachelor's degree outside Iran and I eventually ended up getting a full scholarship to and attending University of Waterloo.
  • In UWaterloo, I participated in the co-op program which alternates between study terms and "work" terms where you do an internship. I interned as a Software Engineer at Snowflake and Citadel Securities, and as a Quant Researcher at Hudson River Trading.
  • I'm currently working as a Quantitative Researcher in Radix Trading which is a quantitative trading firm.

Excited to be doing this interview!

Reyna

Hey all!

We've created a new 1v1 programming contest format: Div(2)4 and we (me and Deemo) are going to livestream it in a couple of hours.

The idea is pretty simple. We have a list of Div 2 contests that we didn't do before and we are going to virtual participate them in order for 24 hours. The goal is to complete as many div 2 contests as you can going in that order. You can only move on to the next contest if the time has run out or you have completed the current contest. In case of a tie, you add up the last time of submission for all the finished contests and 2 hours for all the unfinished contests and that is your penalty. The one with less penalty wins. We still do not know how to incorporate failed attempts and we would love to hear your ideas about what to do with them.

We are probably going to use an excel spreadsheet which we will fill when we meet up. A yellow contest is ongoing, green means finished and red means out of time. We are going to stream at ReynaCodes and DeemoCodes. We are going to start at 11 PM if nothing goes wrong.

We are doing this for fun and we decided to share it with you. We hope we would not be Sleeping Reyna and Sleeping Deemo until the end of this.

Hi Codeforces!

Last year, I went to an event called AddisCoder as a teaching assistant and it is being offered again this year! AddisCoder is a 4-week summer program to introduce high schoolers in Ethiopia to programming and algorithms. It was one of the most memorable events in my life because I got to know about another country, met brilliant students and teaching assistants that were super friendly and cool (and I also had lots of fun exploring Ethiopia with them). We TAs worked together to make problemsets for the students and helped them through the problems.

The students are very good. There will be about 170 students this year. Alumni have gone on to study at Harvard, MIT, Princeton, Columbia, Brown, and many other institutions in the U.S., Ethiopia, Germany, and U.A.E. They have also gone on to work both as interns and full-time software engineers at Facebook, Google, Microsoft, Oracle, etc. A few alumni from the first offering of the course are now pursuing their PhDs in computer science or mathematics. (See the program website for program details and blurbs on some alumni). Students are hand-picked by the Ministry of Education to be the top in the country, chosen from every region (Ethiopia has > 100 million people). Some of the really passionate students also apply to the program themselves.

The co-organizer Jelani Nelson is a computer science professor with a research focus on algorithms who was influenced by platforms like Codeforces and Topcoder. So in his free time, he runs this program to make students interested in computer science.

So, I wanted the cool Codeforces community to apply for the 4th edition of this awesome event (2011, 2016, 2018 before) as a teaching assistant to provide both national and algorithmic diversity to the program. The program will run from July 22 to August 23. There is funding to cover full expenses (flight, lodging, etc) for all TAs. There is also stipend for a limited number of TAs.

If you're interested, check out http://www.addiscoder.com/#apply

Recently (can't meme if it ain't recent), I wanted to make this (shit)post with my fake account until I realized everybody would realize that I have a fake account, so in order to hide that fact I made this post from my fake account, I made it with my main account (or did I?), But now I'm in a dilemma. If I post this with my main account, everybody will find out I have a main account, and everybody will downvote. That's why I'm making this post to ask you guys which account I should make this post with.

Sent from my iPhone (and yes, I do have an iPhone, but it's broken)

I kept getting logged into S.Swift's account, now someone has logged into my account, from what i saw in my talks i can guess it was someone familiar and S.Swift is Iranian but i have no idea who he is
But i don't think it's a coincidence, maybe i have my account logged in somewhere but that doesn't explain how i got switched into another account (how?!)n
Actually i don't really have an idea how these are happening, if anybody has a good deduction please tell me
