Hello Codeforces,

I invite you all to participate in HackerEarth's June Easy on the 2nd of June at 10:00 PM IST.

You will be given 6 problems to solve in 3 hours. The problem difficulty will be similar to that of a Div. 2 round on Codeforces. Each problem will be worth 100 points, but partial scoring is allowed so you can try to pass as many tests as you can.

The contest will be rated and will have prizes for the top 5 beginners.

The problems have been set by Anand Jaisingh (MazzForces) and tested by me (akulsareen). I would also like to thank HackerEarth admin, Arjit Srivastava (belowthebelt) for all his help.

Good Luck and Have Fun.

Hi everyone!

I would like to invite you to participate in February Clash at HackerEarth. The contest is scheduled to start at February 11, 1200 hrs IST. The contest will last for 24 hours so everyone should be able to find some time to comfortably participate.

There will be six tasks in the problemset. Five of them are standard algorithmic problems with partial solutions allowed — you get points for every test that your solution passed. And the last task is an approximate problem — your score for this task depends on how good your solution is compared to the current best solution.

flatline, pkacprzak, Sokolov, r3gz3n and Abhinav Gupta are the authors of this problemset. All the testing was done by me, akulsareen

I hope that everyone from beginners to experienced contestants will be able to find some problem that challenges and interests them. In case you find all problems too easy there is always the approximate challenge to tackle.

As always, belowthebelt was a great help, and I would like to thank him for taking care of all the technical aspects of contest preparation.

While problem solving is rewarding enough on its own, there will be some added incentive for you to do well.

Top5 of leaderboard will receive some nice prizes:

  1. $100 Amazon gift card + HackerEarth T-shirt

  2. $75 Amazon gift card + HackerEarth T-shirt

  3. $50 Amazon gift card + HackerEarth T-shirt

  4. HackerEarth T-shirt

  5. HackerEarth T-shirt

Good luck to everyone — hope to see you at the top of the leaderboard.

UPD: Contest is now over.

I was trying to find out the solution for a couple of problems from the past couple of SRM's but instead discovered that there are no editorials for any SRM/TCO round after TCO round 1C.

Could the people responsible for publishing editorials please release the editorials for recent rounds.

Also, I am curious as to what model Topcoder follows. On Codeforces the author of a particular round also provides an editorial. However, on Topcoder there seems to be a separate set of people who write all the editorials, which can easily cause a backlog. If that is the case may I suggest switching over to the Codeforces model of having a rounds author also write the editorials for that particular round. But all this is just me guessing stuff.

At the end of the day I would really like to see the editorials for the recent rounds.

I had to resubmit an old solution of mine on Codeforces. So I took my old solution, which had a lot of individual #includes in it, replaced them all with one common #include <bits/stdc++.h> and resubmitted.

Surprisingly, my old solution, which gave an AC, gave TLE on case 6 after the change.

Links:

Old solution

New solution

Could someone please point out what happened here?
