how to look so handsome like you
I got it from ScarletS
P = NP?
Yes, but in a much more real sense No.
Bro some tips please. You took 6 year years to reach this point and I am starter
GM in Room no. B122-B128 Rajeev bhawan IIT Roorkee
Codeforces Please ban this account @Arsene21
What is your favourite word?
It rhymes with bigger
N*gga?
Nigger.
Marinush
trigger!
pull my devil trigger!
how to reach IGM like you good sir?
Work hard bro one day you got 7* coder codechef, legendary grandmaster on codeforces your cp skill beat Sundar Pichai and you become next CEO in google.
What's the meaning of your handle?
T1du -> Tidu = Reverse of my first name (Udit)
S = First letter of my last name (Sanghi)
How much theory do you know? (Sorry if it is too generic question)
Not much actually. Most purples would probably know a lot more theory than me. I am a believer of this blog by um_nik (https://codeforces.net/blog/entry/92248). So, for instance, in the list of topics in that blog, I only know mergesort tree and li-chao tree.
What is your biggest motivation to put in so much time in CP?
I think my main motivation was probably just to satisfy my ego, to see how good I can get. It's similar to how most guys start gyming in the beginning just for the chicks but later they just want to lift more and become stronger.
What's your parents degree/job?
Both my parents have a PHD and are in academia.
How much money will you take to sell your account? :catThink:
How much can you offer?Jk, I don't think I'll sell this account for any amount of money. How many hours do you sleep in a day?
It varies from time to time. During my JEE days, I used to sleep for less than 4 hours a day. These days, I am sleeping for like 10 hours a day since the semester just started. Going further into the semester, I'd probably sleep for like 7-8 hours a day.
What was your Jee rank?
I quit preparing midway (when I got into the IOI team). I just gave the first JEE main to secure IIITD as a backup. Got like 21k rank.
How did you cope with coming 5th twice — in IOITC 2018 and in IOITC 2019, before finally making team in 2020?
I didn't cope very well. Both times, I stopped doing CP for at least a few months and focused on other things.
Can agree.
How is T1duS?
T1duS is doing great. How about Dan4Life ?
I'm doing fine XD. Thanks for asking
At what age did you start competitive programming?
Also other than codeforces, what other platforms do you primarily use for practicing problems?
I started when I was 12. Currently, I don't practice anymore but when I used to, I think I used websites like codechef and hackerrank a lot in the beginning. Then, later shifted to more CF, CSAcademy, Atcoder etc. Over the last few years of my practicing, I used mainly OI specific judges like oj.uz to prepare for IOI.
how to work hard like you
Are you attracted to saarang ?
True
I like how you responded with a boolean
The better question is who isn't?
Do you think competitive programming has a chance to become more mainstream and less obscure than what it is today? And if so, how can that be achieved?
I don't really see it happening tbh. I don't get how watching top competitive programmers solve difficult problems is going to appeal to the general public who won't understand anything that's going on.
Does watching anime improve CP performance?
Ofcourse
What's your favourite?
AOT
But How it relates with Anime ? I am just ....i cant explain. How????
https://codeforces.net/blog/entry/93498
Thanks in advance!
What according to you is your biggest accomplishment? :)
Biggest achievement would be becoming IGM I guess but the most valuable one would be my performance at IOI.
aur bhai, kaisa h?
Badiya hun bhai, tu bata?
Ekdum Mast bhai
How to practice efficiently, without loosing focus and enjoying the journey.
How you became aware of CP at 12.!
My friend told me about it
what is your friend doing now ?
He's studying at USC.
How to do dp and graph and more such advance topics T1duS
Generally I learn the topics through the editorial of some problem that uses it, then see tutorials/blogs etc about it if there exist, then grind more problems of it.
Big fan, grats on igm. Who's your favorite vtuber?
Thanks. No
can you coach me to CM?
No
can you coach me to CM?
Just let me borrow your account for 1 contest
Yes
His coaching paid off
Thank god for that. I really hoped I hadn't wasted so much money for nothing
what are you studying in University of Singapore? how did you enrolled in it
CS + double major in Math
Hi T1duS
Bye
What is your favourite video game?
CS: GO
Do you play League of Legends?
I don't
What rank are you in CS:GO?
I don't play it anymore but the max I touched was GNM.
Hi! I wanted to ask whether we can improve problem-solving skills through practice or is it an inherent skill and we can't do anything to improve it? Thank you
Obviously, you can improve.
Thank you
you said that , some people cant reach high ratings even if they work for inf time
Yeah, but this question is different ....
hum bole toh?
In your "prime", how many hours of practice did you do per day? Do you think reaching Candidate Master in 1 year is a reasonable goal for a beginner? Thanks in advance.
In my 'prime' (which I would say would be the months leading up to IOI), it's tough to quantify the number of hours. I would just think about problems all the time.
Yeah, it is a reasonable goal to become CM in 1 year. Took me 1.5 years personally (I started CF couple of months after starting CP), but many of my friends who are more smarter or hard working than me have made it within an year.
Thanks, I will make you proud within a year!
.
he has never been a newbie, so i doubt he can give an accurate answer :)
Nothing is required, just work on solving ad-hoc problems instead of learning some topics.
are you man of culture as well ?
Favorite IPL team ?
Rajasthan Royals
All time favourite anime?
AOT
Ah I see you are a man with great taste.
what do you think about IGM ? is it possible to reach(upto IGM) after putting some amount of efforts ? Bro I solved two 2500 rated problem without looking at editorial or hint that shows that I have ability to become grandmaster very soon !
What do you mean possible? There are people that are IGM?
I mean for other people below CM is it possible to reach IGM
Most IGMs were at some point below CM
Bro I solved two 2500 rated problem without looking at editorial or hint that shows that I have ability to become grandmaster very soon !
don't care + didn't ask + cry about it + stay mad + get real + L + mald seethe cope harder + hoes mad + basic + skill issue + ratio + you fell off + the audacity + triggered + any askers + redpilled + get a life + ok and? + cringe + touch grass + donowalled + not based + your're a (insert stereotype) + not funny didn't laugh + you're* + grammar issue + go outside + get good + reported + ad hominem + GG! + ur mom
I've solved several >3000 rated problems without looking at the editorial. I'm still not LGM.
Why are you sad?
Why not?
Do you think reaching very high ratings like master or GM requires the person to have some innate ability/smartness, or can anyone do it with sufficient practice?
No, I don't think most people can do it even with an infinite amount of practice/ mentoring etc.
that is sad for me and a lot of coders
How do you feel while giving a contest? What strategies do you make?
I feel an adrenaline rush. I don't make much strategy in online contests, usually, just solve ABC.. in order. OI contests, however, did involve a fair amount of strategy which isn't fixed but just comes with experience I guess. (One important thing is to focus on subtasks)
I still remember your smile when you defeated EnEm in codechef 1v1 lockout. I think EnEm was India rank one back then. Waiting for you to become India rank one.
69 days in a row max (intentional or accidental ??)
Intentional
In how much time do you think India would have it's first LGM?
Not within the next year, I think. Maybe 5-10 years? Among the top Indian CPers I personally know, no one seems to have the motivation to grind enough to become LGM.
What are your views about kal013?
Can you please coach me to GM uwu
LMAO
What's so funny?
You don't need any coaching sir _/\_.
What is your favourite prime number?
Update: It should be greater than $$$10^7$$$.
998244853
thanks...
wait?
Can you please share some good tips to practice for cp ?
Just keep solving problems slightly outside your comfort zone.
How is the National University of Singapore?
I'd say it is an excellent university academically but I feel I probably would have enjoyed going to an Indian college more (although probably just waste all my time).
Who is your favorite Competitive programmer?
Anton
Till when is pepe gonna be sad in your pfp xD
yes
What's your fav dish?
Paneer
Can I use your profile photo ?
Can
Can you mention your 2 favorite CP problems?
Of the top of my head, https://atcoder.jp/contests/agc050/tasks/agc050_a (Cute, easy, elegant problem) and IOI — artclass (controversial). Not sure, artclass even counts as a problem, so I'd say IOI — split as its replacement.
1- How old are you?
2- What are you studying/researching?
3- Are you working? what do you do?
4- What are your hobbies?
5- How did you get into programming? Did you ever imagine becoming IGM?
6- What is your OS, programming environment?
7- [silly] Do you have a crush/GF?
Why do you think its your peak ranking? Comparing with football, most footballists reach their peak at 24!
I don't practice anymore.
nutella handle when

Are you into gaming, or anime?
Used to be a bit into gaming but now not really. Am into Anime.
Which should I learn first, binary search or max-flow in $$$n^{1+o(1)}$$$ time?
Sarr please recommend some good anime
AOT, OPM, FMAB, Code Geass
are you really a sanghi, or do you have liberal views?
I don't follow politics
How can I improve in Number Theory?
I think a good idea is to solve Math Olympiad problems.
Have you ever written competitive programming problems?
Yes, I've written a few problems:
https://www.codechef.com/problems/TIDUAFT
https://www.codechef.com/problems/PEWDSVTS
https://www.codechef.com/problems/RANDGAME
https://www.codechef.com/problems/DINCPATH

https://www.codechef.com/problems/INVRET
P != NP?
how to get good in cp i am a starter and finding it very hard.
Will you do ICPC?
Yes, why deny the opportunity to travel to various countries for free
How to pronounce your handle?
Originally I thought of it as tidu — ess similar to the CSGO player KennyS but then people called me as Tai-dus and I liked that more so now I just pronounce it as tai-dus.
How to get to $$$\tt{\color{purple}{CM}}$$$?
Don't even think about $$$\tt{\color{orange}{M},\color{orange}{IM},\color{red}{GM},\color{red}{IGM}}$$$!
By a $$$\tt{\color{cyan}{specialist}}$$$ who has a failure to get $$$\tt{\color{blue}{Expert}}$$$.
(1) What do you think would be a good start to proving stuff about some problem's solution? like some idea which could possibly lead you further to the solution if it was true. Maybe provide some resource if possible? Most editorials simply leave out by saying the observation/idea is obvious and some of them rarely prove it.
(2) Do you prove all of your solutions while giving the contest?
I don't think proving solutions in contests is a good idea. I personally never do it. Although, you should try to prove it after the contest. If you can't, it's still not that big of a deal.
Wow. I always prove my solutions
ye if you do the other way ,then it is just having guesses
I am currently stuck on spec , rn I am mainly practicing from atcoder , where should I practice from should I prcatice from OI from codeforces or atcoder or any site that you recommend (also where did u practiced when u were roughly around my level)
Any of these sites work.
how much money you made in cp career.? lol
Not much
how do you break down hard problems, logic, observation and all things
Honestly, I just guess, I'm not even kidding. I don't solve problems step-by-step or break them down into simpler problems or anything.
can i learn algo side by side nd prac even if they are asked in probs pretty above my rating say(1300 for trees)?if not for cp they will help me in interview prep somehow
They may not be useful specifically for CP, but sure they can be helpful for other things like interview prep.
Why is the toad crying?
Imagine calling it a toad
i m not going to make an "ask me anything" blog because it will attract some LGM trolls whose nicknames start with a vowel; so instead one can ask me anything under this comment
Where's nemo?
nautilus
are you girl or boy or other gender?
i'm an adult man
How is your wife rotavirus doing?
i didnt marry her
Would you continue doing CP even after getting a job?
Maybe I would just do contests occasionally for fun.
Can you tell me solution for this Problem?
There are N items of weights 1,2...,N means ith item has a weight i. And Each item has a value v[i]. There is a knapsack of weight N. We have to fill that knapsack with these weights with maximum value achievable.
We can take each item as many times as we want(including zero).
0<=v[i]<=1e9 1<=N<=1e5
i want to know the feeling after being red .
It's like seeing your sports team that never won the league winning for the first time but that sports team is actually you.
What is your strategy to solve problems?
Go to bollywood song?
I don't really listen to Bollywood songs.
where you live in Kanpur? And from where did you completed your schooling ?
IITK. I've been in a lot of schools.
Which role do you like the most in mafia
Detective
How to practice problems to perform well in contest using code forces problemset is ok level wise like first solve 800 level problem than move to 900 when you see that you are solve this difficuly level problem and so on
Yes, this is a good strategy.
Why do you think that you probably reached near the peak rating you could on this website?
I'm not that smart and also I'm not really practicing anymore.
Are you mathematically talented? Do you need to excel at math olympiads to think about red colors? It definitely helps, but is it necessary?
You don't need to excel at math Olympiads, but they are certainly very helpful. I definitely would recommend high school students interested in CP to try that out as well.
Tell me about your cp strategy
When are you making a youtube channel for cp anyway? if you're planning to make one...
I am not planning to
Since you are from National University of Singapore, do you know Rezwan.Arefin01? CPHOF profile: https://cphof.org/profile/codeforces:Rezwan.Arefin01
Yes
How are u doing Udit? As U said, U are not practicing CP. What do u do these days? PS: Glad to see u active here after so long!
I'm doing good. Just busy with university these days.
are you gonna keep answering forever?
I don't think people are going to keep asking forever hehe
Do you prove your solutions on problems ?
Never during a contest. Sometimes after a contest.
Industry or academia?
Good question. I am unable to decide this yet. I definitely do want to go towards a more Research related job or anything else which involves a lot of thinking. My opinions on this keep changing. For example, one of the factors is that academia would probably involve some teaching aspect. Last semester I TA-ed a course online so I didn't particularly like doing this. This semester, I am TA-ing a course face-to-face so I definitely enjoy it much more and the chances of me going into academia have increased slightly. Similarly, I also did a Research internship this summer and liked the overall vibe of Industrial Research so that inclines me towards Industry also.
where do you work?
I don't work
How to become specialist?
Hey T1duS and all other viewers, lately these days I have been trying to develop a dark theme for CodeForces from scratch. Below I m sharing links to sub-components that I have touched upon so far:

- Test-case Highlighting: link2
- Button-hover Bubble Effect: original vs my-Substitute
How is it ? Did you like it at first glance ?
How to download?
