Good afternoon Codeforces!
It's been a while since last topic about football on Codeforces.
ACM ICPC world finals is about to start but what is more important FIFA World Cup has already started! So let's discuss your team preferences and results, make predictions and post funny photos and jokes about football here. I suggest to keep discussion in English so people from all the world can take part in it.
I will start off by posting picture of my national team. Hope we'll make it to play-off stage this year!
Belgium vs Russia will be one hell of a game.
What happened to Arshavin by the way? Surprised he was not included in the final squad.
Arshavin is not good anymore since he returned back from Arsenal to Zenit. Now he is usually substitute in the club and this is his usual state
This time Germany Will be the Winner.They have perfect line-up.
They played good in the first game but I don't agree with perfect line-up — they almost don't have forwards. Klose is old, Podolski is not very good in playing for Arsenal so Muller who is halfback usually has to play as a forward.
I think it's too late to say "I support Spain" :'(

Germany have the best team on paper but will choke in semis. Brazil-Without neymar firing they look ordinary. France-You just don't get the right feel looking at their lineup Belgium-"Dark Horses" but don't expect more than one or two upsets. Argentina-No defense. Netherlands-Given trouble by Australia you wonder. Uruguay-How far is Suarez going to carry them. Portugal-With Ronaldo's probable injury Pepe's suspension and Coentrao's injury.Will they even qualify for the group stage. Italy-Stop Pirlo Stop Italy. So who will win? That's why its a hell of a world cup.
I invite everyone who doesn't agree that FIFA World Cup is way more important and entertaining than ACM ICPC World Finals to explain their opinion.
As for me Drinking of Fake Vodka World Cup is way more important and entertaining than FIFA World Cup. Just IMHO.

I'm also a fan of football but this was a pretty ofensive to state this on this site. We are a community of competitive programmers and our sport is exactly competitive programming. In my opinion ACM ICPC finals is the greatest and the most prestigious event in whole competitive programming world. It is a goal of many coders to perform well and they train very hard and devote much effort just to take a high place in ACM ICPC. It is our championship, our target. For global community, FIFA World Cup is surely a bigger deal than ACM ICPC, but for a codeforces community this is the other way around. In FIFA World Cup we can just watch what other people created and in ACM ICPC what we created. If you're not excited about rivalry in competitive programming, what you're doing on this site?
It's really pity that Poland didn't qualify to this World Cup — I'm really sorry for that man and I will let you comfort you with a thought that we're doing great things here on Codeforces rather than that stupid guys who are kicking the ball.
Hm, if you think that this is my point of view, because Poland didn't qualify, you are clearly mistaken. I'm rather used to that Poland is not performing well in football recently :D. You asked about our opinion and I presented mine to you and got a response which suggests that my opinion is determined by anger. Either way, to make it short — World Cup is THEIR championship and ACM ICPC is OUR championship. People should take care of their own life not other people's and so for example don't read news about celebrities. And programmers should care the most about their championship not football ones. I'm always really excited about FIFA World Cup, UEFA Euro, Olympic Games, but that doesn't change the fact that my and my friend's life concerns me more than sportmen's life. And one more thing, as far as I know Russia is also not doing well ;).

I'm really upset that my blogpost got so many negative votes. Those guys who don't like football can just skip reading it and give opportunity to true athletes discuss this outstanding event.
