We are excited to announce a new Weekend Practice round on August 3, at 19 UTC. This is a ranking competition at Eolymp.

Format and Difficulty

Same as in previous rounds, the competition is primarily aimed at improving practical skills. There will be 2.5 hours for 5 tasks of varying difficulty, the easiest of which can even be solved by beginners.

The scoring for each task being block-based (meaning points are awarded for each block of tests separately, and only if the solution passes all tests in the block). If there is a tie between two participants, the one whose last productive submission (i.e., a submission that added at least one point) was made earlier will be ranked higher in the leaderboard.

The statements will be available in the following languages: English, Ukrainian, French, Spanish, Azerbaijani, Russian.

Registration

You can join the competition on the competition page.

Prizes

The top-10 participants of the competition, as well as 10 random participants from those who rank from 11th to 100th place, will receive prizes in the form of t-shirts. Please, note, that we have changed how prizes are awarded,

Look here in "How can I win a prize". Participants from Russia and Belarus participate outside the competition due to the war they started. In the post, I listed the official winners. This is not written in the rules, but this is the position of the site team and we have already shown this position by blocking Russia.

Participants from Russia and Belarus participate outside the competition — Why that is not written anywhere? And then why our ratings got updated?

Participants ... due to the war they started — yeah, participants are the main antagonists here, who else.

We have already shown this position by blocking Russia — yeah, that's a key measure to win the war.

You should've clarified these things before the competition rather then quietly doing whatever you want afterwards.

However, due to russia's unprovoked invasion of Ukraine in 2014/2022, we do not accept participants from russia or Belarus.

It's in the FAQ under the section of "Who can participate?"

Now it is. Site managers were so in hurry to add this that they wrote "russia" instead of "Russia". "Belarus" is written normally though.

It's "misspelled" two times in a row though, so it was probably for a reason. Also that text has been there since the first Weekend Practice contest.

Wow it's very interesting opinion that codeforces participants from Russia started the war. It would have been better if you hadn't said anything

It is not about that codeforces participants from Russia stardet the war. It is about the position of the site team (as I said already).

https://eolymp.com/en/learning/weekend-practice#frequently-asked-questions under “how do I receive a prize”, quote “We do not send prizes to russia or Belarus.”, also they are not supposed to even allow you to participate, that was probably a bug. So yeah, cry more about “robbing”.

This message has been added after the contest, but the rule was there since the beginning.

Initially, we were only sending prizes to selected countries, so there was no need to explicitly state that we do not send prizes to russia and Belarus. But after a while, we improved our logistics a bit and changed the message to "We can try to arrange delivery to other countries", which didn't clearly reflect our rules. It was not explicitly stated, so we made sure to add it.

It was intentionally lowercase, because russia shouldn't be respected to type it capitalized.

Oh really? You are such a clowns, guys. If you don't respect Russia and acting right now like a bunch of rats — get out of Codeforces! It was made by russian programmers if you forgot.

In response to my allegations, they decided to remove Russia from the list of countries you can choose in your account settings.

Funny

I'm sorry, our position cannot be clearer. It's not the place to discuss why we do not allow participants from russia and have mixed feeling about participants from Belarus. I don't think you can change our minds or rally others due to this "“injustice”".

    In response to my allegations

Bro, they have decided to remove it(and some other options) before you even posted your original comment. Here's a translation of a conversation between the CPO, the CEO and one of the participants in a group chat. As you can see on the screenshot the conversation happened around 7pm(EEST, 4pm UTC).

The participant: Why has eolymp not removed russia as a country from the list for participants

    Russian IPs are blocked anyway

The CEO: For some time we renamed it to "terrorussia" and "russia, the terrorist state" and changed the flag later, after some kind of country list synchronization it became "Russia" again, but with the flag of the FRL

    The participant: ok, i see

The CEO: We will discuss remove them and antarctica

The CPO: what have the penguins done to deserve that?

The CEO: militarization of a neutral continent :)
