What will happen if I register a contest but don't participate in it?

So for example, I have emergencies or something so I cannot participate in it.Will my rating drop a lot?

I believe that if you dont make a submission, you wont lose any rating. i could be wrong tho

No, unless you made any submissions, you won't be considered a participant in the contest and your rate won't drop.
