Dear Codeforces Team,
I am writing to appeal the recent rating reduction for my solution to Problem 2036D, as flagged due to similarities with other submissions. I understand that this process is automated to maintain contest integrity, but I assure you that I approached the problem with original thinking and adhered to all competition guidelines.
Solution Overview: In my code, I used a method to extract "layers" from the input grid, then count occurrences of a specific target string by iterating over each layer. This approach involved:
Layer Extraction: By traversing the matrix edges from the outermost to the innermost layer. Counting Occurrences: Using string manipulation and a sliding window approach. Study Resources Referenced: Before the contest, I studied a few sources on matrix traversal techniques and string pattern matching, specifically:
General matrix traversal methods to work with layers or spirals. Sliding window technique for string matching from standard tutorials. These foundational methods could explain any unintended resemblance between my solution and others submitted in the contest, as they represent common problem-solving patterns.
Request for Review: Given the honest approach I took and my careful adherence to the rules, I kindly request that my rating be reconsidered. I’m committed to fair competition and would never intentionally engage in any actions against the rules.
Thank you for your attention, and please let me know if I can provide further details or clarifications.
Best regards, racbhitbit
May you please mention the id of user whom it got matched with?

LOL thats a long list
yes, but the approach I followed was genuine and just a little bit similar. I can explain how it works and what the workflow is.
some times ago it happend with me also in div 3 that was my best contest uptill now but sadly that has been skipped
maybe you are telling truth but this is cruel world
I know but do you know any way to get the rating back or any specific mail or to message any user..
Bro, it might offend but the solution of some of the users matches line by line to your solution. Logic may be same, but how on earth two users manage to have all variables' name same, that too for the question that uses too many variables. It doesn't even seem like it is telegrammed (even they don't use long variable names), this is straight forward CHATGPTied (Only AI tools use so long variable names for illustration purposes). Moreover, I feel like I am adding to the purpose by giving tips how to cheat and not get plag-ed. Maybe it's your first time trying unfair measures but please don't. May the truth prevails!
Yes, I accept that I use GPT, but only to help frame things. I resolved my syntax error with it, and while my code might be similar, I didn’t copy-paste it. But it's okay, maybe it’s my fault.
Appreciated!
Just think of this guy bruh. https://codeforces.net/profile/asmitjain2006. My guy even shortened the variable names and on the first look, this doesn't even seem plagiarised. See his fate today :(. Plag check takes into account a lot of things
Oh, that was brutal! By the way, what’s his rating?
Guess we would never know.
