Is it just me, or are cf contests becoming worse and worse.

I feel like the quality of contests has went down significantly this year.

Problems in contests used to be original and fun to solve , but now it's very rare to find a good problem. Almost every problem is either unoriginal or very boring.

Problems used to be 70% observations, with the remaining 30% split between code and topics. Problems now are 50% observations and 50% code and topics, And sometimes even less than 50% for observations.

Not to mention the huge increase in cheaters which made problems rating go down. 1200 rated problems now feel almost twice as hard as they used to be.

I really miss أيام الخوالي (The good old days).

Anyway, Miku loves you and hopes you have a great day!

Kind of disagree.

  1. As for the problems being unoriginal, I think that with a tremendous amount of problems being covered on almost all the topics, the level of originality that CF still maintains is quite outstanding, kudos to the problem setters. (Try setting a contest once, you will realize how difficult it is to actually come up with original ideas.)

  2. For the cheaters part, I completely agree with you.

  3. As for the difficulty part, I think its only natural for problems being tougher than before, because the number of participants have increased (used to be like 10K before --> is around 30K now), which means the number of people that can solve a particular problem has increased, and thus if quality of the problemset is to be maintained (By quality I mean for problems to be challenging as they used to be for the average crowd) then its normal to increase the difficulty a bit.
