Hello everyone. I had the chance to interview Gennady Korotkevich, also known as tourist, on January 25th, 2025. This is the full transcript of the interview, and the video will be published on YouTube soon.
Interviewer: Gennady, thanks for joining us. Let's start with how you reached such a high rating.
Gennady: It was about dedication, mainly. And, well, I got some help early on, you could say.
Interviewer: Help? From whom exactly?
Gennady: Let's just say Mike Mirzayanov. He gave me the problems of every contest before they even started.
Interviewer: So you had an unfair advantage with the Codeforces founder? That's quite something.
Gennady: Yeah, it got me where I needed to be. That's how you win, right?
Interviewer: I guess so. What is one thing you absolutely hate about competitive programming?
Gennady: The Indian community. They ask the dumbest questions and just cheat in contests anyways, just pathetic.
Interviewer: So, you think a specific group are ruining competitive programming?
Gennady: Yeah, Indians just suck at competitive programming. It's annoying.
Interviewer: What are your thoughts on the future of competitive programming?
Gennady: It's basically useless now. AI will take over everything anyway.
Interviewer: So, you're suggesting no one should even bother with it anymore?
Gennady: Exactly, it's a waste of time.
I don't know whether tourist has said this or not, but I believe that there will be some people who keep solving problems in the future, even though AI will surpass us, because we enjoy the fun of CP, I really like the feeling of get an AC.
Will you still enjoy fun when humanity train ai to enjoy it too?
