Yay, that time has finally come! The list of TopCoder's contests is so long that I am unable to normally enter whichever practice room I want, because corresponding buttons are shown by arena in a place that is not visible on my screen :). For some time just dragging arena to top of screen was doing the job, but it is no longer sufficient :P. Am I the only one facing this issue or maybe it is device-specific or maybe I am just a retard and I am missing some easy solution? In order to enter practice room for SRM 686 I used navigation by arrows, but it is just a temporary hacky workaround.
Damn, I got my hopes up a bit too much for this post. Thought maybe they finally implemented practice rooms and either plugins support or at least code generation for web arena. I mean these practice rooms are coming "soon" for more than half a year already -_-
It is certainly specific to local UI settings, mainly resolution. Locally, I get the list to be like 3/5 of screen height.
Note that, in the past, practice rooms were grouped by less than 25 (it was 15 I think), but people started complaining on the very same problem: the list of groups didn't fit into some of the screens.
I don't know why, but my "print screen" button didn't work when that list was dropped xD
LOL
It's quite rare when half of comments under a post got more upvotes than the post itself, isn't it? :)
And most useful comment got 0 upvotes — somehow I am not talking about yours ;)
If you look closely that is exactly the case also for all of your blog entries.
If you turn the screen sideways (Ctrl + Shift + <- or -> for Windows, idk in Linux), maybe it'll work again.
OMG, you're truly a genius : D
At reading while lying down. And getting trolled by Windows-Linux switching (I have three distros and all used for that Linux-only tinkering, I'm only missing a subscription to The Autist magazine).
So it is time for you to buy a high-resolution device!
I don't have this problem till around SRM2500 — that is about 50 years later: http://i.imgur.com/gh6Wjpu.jpg
"Application's list is too long for user's screen -> user needs to buy a better laptop" is not a good rule to follow for software developers :). Especially since you were an intern in Facebook which have motto (one of many :P) "Every user's problem is our problem" (or sth like that :D).
