There is a publication in this facebook page:
"Hello! We have some bad news. :( Visa-free regime will not be introduced. Sincerely apologize. It is not the fault of the Organizing Committee. On Monday we will publish the procedure for obtaining a visa. We ask you in the registration system to indicate the full address of the Consulate or visa centre where you intend to obtain a visa."
I think it's the official facebook page, since when I click on the facebook icon in this website it redirects me to that facebook page.
But there's no publication already about how to obtain the visa. I post this because I think that not everyone is aware of this, and I think it's very important.
Usually, each country should get visa for their own participants, no? That's how it went in Slovakia.
Otherwise, look for info online; different countries can have different requirements. Here is my experience:
tourist visa is the most reasonably obtainable type
invitation letter: there are agencies which provide them instantly for a small fee
travel insurance
passport valid at least 6 months after you return
small photo
filled in questionnaire at visa.kdmid.ru, I suggest filling it with dummy info first and reading it to the end, it asks for quite a lot of things
processing fee: 60 euros or so if you can afford to wait a few weeks; more if you need it in 3 days
What about the countries whose citizens that according to the site "may not require a visa"? This publication changes anything?
Apparently, yes, that's why I decided to write this blog.
