changeForBetter's blog

I have been facing this problem since quite a time.

Whenever I type codeforces in my browser and hit enter. It start loading, and it loads very very very very very slow. Most of the time it time outs. Does this happen to anyone else also ?

I have to wait for like ~ 1 min for every new page request that I make to cf. Even refreshing takes ~20 seconds or it doesn't refreshes at all.

Because of this, the contest giving experience of mine is ruined.

I request MikeMirzayanov to please look into this.

It's been like this since I joined. It's not really such a big deal. I view waiting as part of the contest experience — it builds suspense!

But then I see some people submit solutions at a gap of 2 — 3 mins. I believe that they are not facing this issue. I say this because, whenever I choose to submit my solution, I upload my file and hit the submit button, and then, the page starts loading and almost 90 % of times, it doesn't load. Then I have to refresh it again and select my code to submit and then again hit the submit button. Sometimes I have to loop the above procedure for around 4 times(on an average) just to find out that my solution give WA on some pretest.

I believe that this is very unfair when it comes to submitting solutions, because every minute is very crucial. The time taken by me to solve a Div2 A problem is generally less than the time taken by me to submit it's solution. Also for me the contest starts after around 50 seconds, because of the same loading issue.

Happens to everyone. Luck is always a part of the contest. The 10 points you might miss from A don't really matter.

I don't want to sound offensive friend, but I don't understand what you're trying to do here by commenting and sympathising me that it's okay and it happens with everyone else instead of helping me, making my message reach the right person who can really help us all. I want CF to change for it's betterment, that's all I ask.

Oh, actually I never faced same problem (except times when CF lagged for everyone). Also, none of my friends have faced it. Have you tried using other devices/browsers? And where you lives (why in the hell people uses fake accounts for such a blogs) — maybe it's some problems with servers you connected to or you just lives too far? If you lives somewhere like USA — I won't be surprised if you got a lot of lags since, ofcourse, codeforces can't afford to buy servers here, so nothing could be changed much.

Okay MikeMirzayanov . I won't stop until you comment on why this is happening and what you're doing to improve it. Because other sites work very fine( except codechef though ), but it's only with CF that it happens.

That's a very bad way to tell something, dude. Spamming will get you nowhere. Firstly, Mike have a job besides CF, it's not even his main place of work, secondly, he got a lot of other things to do on CF, thirdly, he got a family and surely wants some free time to spend. More than that, it's night where he lives. Please be patient and respectful to things he does for codeforces.

With such attitude, I won't be surprised if Mike just ignores your spam.

I am very sorry if this is not the right way. But I think that it's a very serious issue that has been troubling me since quite long, and I can't take it no more as I am a regular competitor. Most of the time, only due to this, I cannot participate because then if I participate late or submit solutions late then I will loose ratings.

And to be brutally honest, It's 4:30 AM in my country. So, let's not talk about time here.

Also, I am very thankful to Mike for this amazing platform and helping guys like me learn a lot in CP. All I ask is that he tells me that he will look into this matter and then I might have a good night sleep as well.

Why in the hell no? Okay, you can afford yourself to not sleep at that time. But not everyone can, Mikes works for 10-11 hours per day. You should undestand and respect someone's desire to sleep.

I am sure that MikeMirzayanov wants the best of all Codeforces's users. Repeating the message will not help. Give him sometime.

Being an hourly visitor to CF I can say it works more than fine. The problem is with your side.

What country? Also screenshot of the network details tab from the developer tools (try chrome, for example) will be useful.
