Bakry's blog

By Bakry, history, 5 years ago, In English

Hi, I tried to change my handle to Bakry but it said: "this handle is currently in use"

but this handle didn't participate in any contest or post any comments and it's inactive from 2016.

Also, my friend tried to change his handle to Dr_Evil (which is inactive from 9 years) but he faced the same problem.

Better focus on practicing than changing handles. Don't mention MikeMirzayanov for these unimportant bugs.

Maybe they have sent private messages? You can't check that but it seems to be considered a requirement.

    Maybe,

but I find this weird that account didn't submit any problem, write any comments, blogs and last visit to codeforces is same day of registration day (after 2 hours of registration time) to write messages.

I think if someone hasn't open his account for a very long time (5 years maybe) the account should be deleted after warning him by email.

People take long breaks and retire. If someone good retires (like bmerry) then it'd be better to keep their account for historical purposes than delete it.

I think it's better if we loosen the name-changing criteria (a little). It should be okay because someone can still get their name back if they come back on.

I had to add _ to the end of the name. It's not too bad.

I faced the same problem with Fouad(last visit 4 years ago) I had to put '.' after my handle.
