I just want to talk about the this ( Codeforces Round #635 Div 1 ) contest. As we can see that the writers in this contests were EternalAlexander , ustze , and Sulfox

Also we can note that the maximum ratings of all these three writers are 2200, 2112, and 2529 ( And for getting this much ratings, these writers have faced many ups and downs too in their past contests ) correspondingly. And from these ratings, it might not be wrong to say that these writers have some lesser knowledge than Codeforces LGMs.

My question might be very weird, but I would be happy if someone could give a better explanation. I just want to know that why any of the Codeforces top LGMs ( except maroonrk ) could not participate well/good ( could not even solve 5 problems out of 7 problems ) in this contest ?

It might not be wrong to say and expect that the top LGMs have much more knowledge than these writers because as we can see that the difference between the ratings of these three writers and codeforces LGMs are really huge.

This is the contest Final Standings : Final_Standings

Please someone explain this as I am very eager to know the reason behind this.

A second to think? After all, these people were preparing a contest for several weeks, they thought over the task itself, and tried to solve it. And the fact that in the contest where they give 2:30 for think, a person cannot create all the tasks — this is the norm. And the point is not that LGM did not solve the problem in two and a half hours, but the fact is that the authors had much more time to think and solve the problem. So your question does not make sense.

Because the took days to prepare a problem and LGM got an hour to solve it. Ain't that obvious?

Didn't you look at the size of the editorials for the Div 1 questions? LGM's probably can get stuck only when a problem has perhaps +6-7 concepts set up together in perfect synch..(Obviously I cannot comment on what concepts since they are out of my scope)

div 2 questions from C onwards rarely contain perhaps 2-3 atmost concepts bundled up together.(Lot many times it is just an implementation or a greedy which means its based on a single concept)

So.. simply speaking they had too many things to figure in that span of time for the E and F questions.

The questions were really good as the setters took their time to come up with them.
