Hello codeforces, hope you all are safe! I wanna suggest a new feature to be added to codeforces. I want to have an individual discussion for every single problem, like leetcode and some other sites. It will be beneficial for us if you can implement it MikeMirzayanov. Sometimes I feel difficulty in understanding the editorial and in that case, I go for watching someone's solution and it goes above my head. Any thoughts?
Oh wait
I believe OP is asking for individual spaces for each problem to be discussed, specifically to that problem.
Yes, individual spaces for each problem like leetcode.
Or a problem name tag could also help. We can sort the comments based on the given problem tag
you can discuss under the editorials. I think it's unnecessary to add this function
It's so nice to scroll several pages of comments just to find out everybody discusses A and B
Yes, that annoys me the most
I requested this feature once but you guys downvoted me saying that people will post things like ac in 1 go
Thankfully, we have a voting system to downvote useless comments like those, unlike Spoj.
I agree, downvotes will surely discourage them from doing it again.
+1, would be much more accommodating for beginners, and ctrl+f "div1C" \ " C " \ "1c" \ etc. is quite inefficient.
if you can't understand an editorial, then you should try easier problems
For an easy problem why we would need an editorial?
for those who don't understand me: sometimes I can't understand an editorial of a div1E but I believe it's because I don't have enough experience, not because it's badly written.
Ok, I agree with that, but sometimes the editorials are truly badly written and sometimes they post it very late ( Educational rounds). Suppose if individual spaces for every problem is available then we will start discussing it just after the contest and we won't have to wait for editorial to be published.
Also, in editorial, we get only one way of solving the problem(sometimes two or three when the writer is very kind), and in the discussion, we would meet people with different approaches and a lot more to be learned in that case according to me.
Sorry for my bad English.
Sometimes I can't understand an editorial for like Div2B and I believe it is because it is badly written, not because I don't have enough experience
Though nothing of it has anything to do with the feature request at question
This would be really helpful, it is really annoying to scroll down pages and pages of comments. Something like SPOJ, and also the option to hide it.
If this feature is implemented, the community will heavily increased.
The best thing for Leetcode is its discussion.
I'm still learning to use Codeforces, but it's really time consuming to find ideas towards a single problem.
Hope this can be finished soon.
