Take rest. Nothing is more important than your health
You just can't do well with fever.
Look at how I dropped after taking a shot of the covid vaccine (I'm under 18 so the side effects were stronger and lasted more, even up to now).
Health >>>>>>> Anything in the world
Yes,health is important, but can't accept to fall for fever :)
Since you have a high fever then it's better to take a rest...
You can still participate contests after the fever, but you can only live once.
If you want to fight and possibly destroy your health (like myself) here's an alternative answer.
I had the worst flu during IOI 2013 in Australia and that was also my best performance at any IOI. Maybe I would have had gold if it weren't for the flu? Who knows... I think I was given 2 pills of Ibuprofen and 2 pills of Paracetamol (don't know how many milligrams though) not long after the start of Contest Day 1 by the onsite doctor. They lower your fever and reduce pain for a few hours and they made me feel well enough until the end of the contest. Of course, consult a doctor before taking any medicine but these made the contest manageable for me.
Funnily enough I also had the flu during the IOI selection contest in Serbia that same year and still I ended up being first. I was accused of doping — as a joke :D
My contest went literally bad.You can say, worst. But my fever was under control and breathing was fine. I am feeling terrible.
Sorry to hear that, but you should be proud of yourself for trying. Now is the time to rest and take good care of yourself and don't worry too much about it.
Your best choice is cold enema!
ps. First I thought of paracetamol, but it’s bad for liver and it looks like you are fond of masochistic practices :)
I will take paracetamol :3
