thenymphsofdelphi, lanhf, and I are delighted to invite you to take part in Codeforces Round 873 (Div. 1) and Codeforces Round 873 (Div. 2) which are going to take place at 14.05.2023 17:35 (Московское время). Participants with a rating lower than 1900 will participate in Division $$$2$$$, while participants with a rating of at least 1900 will participate in Division $$$1$$$.

In both divisions, you will be given 2 hours to solve 6 problems (one of which is divided into two subtasks), all of which were authored and prepared by me, lanhf, and thenymphsofdelphi. We would like to thank the following people who made our round possible:

На официальном сайте Летней школы по компьютерным наукам открылся прием заявок. Школу для учеников 8-10 классов проводит факультет компьютерных наук НИУ ВШЭ совместно с Центром поддержки одарённых детей “Стратегия” в Липецке.

Отбор участников пройдет в несколько туров. Первый отборочный тур начнется 13 мая в 00:00 и продлится до 14 мая 23:59. Второй отборочный тур начнется 3 июня в 00:00 и продлится до 4 июня 23:59. Отбор проводится на платформе Codeforces.

С 15 по 29 июля 2023 года Летняя школа по компьютерным наукам примет у себя талантливых школьников из 8-10 классов, желающих добиться высоких успехов в олимпиадах по информатике. Как и раньше, школу организует ФКН ВШЭ совместно с центром поддержки одарённых детей “Стратегия” в Липецке.

Обучение в школе будет проходить в пяти параллелях: C, B', B, A' и A в соответствии с классом обучения в школе и уровнем подготовки участника. Основное внимание будет уделяться изучению алгоритмов, используемых при решении олимпиадных задач.

Участие в школе платное и составляет в этом году 38 000 рублей. Участие для школьников из Липецкой области, а также для призеров и победителей заключительного этапа ВсОШ по информатике и математике бесплатно.

Желающим принять участие в ЛШКН-2023 нужно заполнить регистрационную анкету и решить вступительные задания той параллели, в которой они хотят учиться. Всем заполнившим анкету на указанный электронный адрес будет высылаться информация об отборе в школу.

В 12.05.2023 17:35 (Московское время) состоится Educational Codeforces Round 148 (Rated for Div. 2).

Продолжается серия образовательных раундов в рамках инициативы Harbour.Space University! Подробности о сотрудничестве Harbour.Space University и Codeforces можно прочитать в посте.

Этот раунд будет рейтинговым для участников с рейтингом менее 2100. Соревнование будет проводиться по немного расширенным правилам ICPC. Штраф за каждую неверную посылку до посылки, являющейся полным решением, равен 10 минутам. После окончания раунда будет период времени длительностью в 12 часов, в течение которого вы можете попробовать взломать абсолютно любое решение (в том числе свое). Причем исходный код будет предоставлен не только для чтения, но и для копирования.

Вам будет предложено 6 или 7 задач на 2 часа. Мы надеемся, что вам они покажутся интересными.

It's mesanu, flamestorm and me and we are very excited to invite you to Codeforces Round 871 (Div. 4)! It starts on May/06/2023 17:35 (Moscow time).

We worked swiftly to tailor the problems for this contest, so we hope you will enjoy them! We tried to make the statements short, epic and concise.

The format of the event will be identical to Div. 3 rounds:

• 5-8 tasks;
• ICPC rules with a penalty of 10 minutes for an incorrect submission;
• 12-hour phase of open hacks after the end of the round (hacks do not give additional points)
• after the end of the open hacking phase, all solutions will be tested on the updated set of tests, and the ratings recalculated
• by default, only "trusted" participants are shown in the results table (but the rating will be recalculated for all with initial ratings less than 1400 or you are an unrated participant/newcomer).

We urge participants whose rating is 1400+ not to register new accounts for the purpose of narcissism but to take part unofficially. Please do not spoil the contest for the official participants.

Only trusted participants of the fourth division will be included in the official standings table. This is a forced measure for combating unsporting behavior. To qualify as a trusted participant of the fourth division, you must:

• take part in at least five rated rounds (and solve at least one problem in each of them),
• do not have a point of 1400 or higher in the rating.

Regardless of whether you are a trusted participant of the fourth division or not, if your rating is less than 1400 (or you are a newcomer/unrated), then the round will be rated for you.

Problem

This time we’re delighted to provide you with a new challenging problem from Huawei — Buffer Sharing in Multi-Tenant Database Environment, which is prepared by Huawei 2012 Labs and Huawei Cloud Computing.

Nowadays everyone uses databases directly or indirectly. For example, databases of service providers store shopping records, transaction records, or ticket purchase records. During this challenge, you will work with the multi-tenant database, in which a single database instance is divided into multiple virtual sub-databases, serving different tenants of cloud service.

In such databases, different tenants need to be isolated from each other to prevent services from affecting each other. Therefore, buffer is considered as an important resource for management of large amount of data. When the amount of data in the database buffer reaches the maximum value, the database buffer evicts some data from the memory based on the eviction algorithm and loads new data pages from the disk. Your goal is to optimize sharing and isolation of database buffers in the multi-tenant database. While replacement algorithms considered in this contest be one of the core algorithms, we believe there are multiple approaches one can try here, and some crossover of the algorithms will also increase your chances to win!

Привет! В 24.04.2023 17:35 (Московское время) начнётся Codeforces Round 867 (Div. 3) — очередной Codeforces раунд для третьего дивизиона. В этом раунде будет 6-8 задач, которые подобраны по сложности так, чтобы составить интересное соревнование для участников с рейтингами до 1600. Однако все желающие, чей рейтинг 1600 и выше могут зарегистрироваться на раунд вне конкурса.

Раунд пройдет по правилам образовательных раундов. Таким образом, во время раунда задачи будут тестироваться на предварительных тестах, а после раунда будет 12-ти часовая фаза открытых взломов. Мы постарались сделать приличные тесты — так же как и вы, мы будем расстроены, если у многих будут падать решения после окончания контеста.

Вам будет предложено 6-8 задач и 2 часа 15 минут на их решение.

Штраф за неверную попытку в этом раунде будет равняться 10 минутам.

Напоминаем, что в таблицу официальных результатов попадут только достоверные участники третьего дивизиона. Как написано по ссылке — это вынужденная мера для борьбы с неспортивным поведением. Для квалификации в качестве достоверного участника третьего дивизиона надо:

• принять участие не менее чем в пяти рейтинговых раундах (и решить в каждом из них хотя бы одну задачу)
• не иметь в рейтинге точку 1900 или выше.

Независимо от того являетесь вы достоверными участниками третьего дивизиона или нет, если ваш рейтинг менее 1600, то раунд для вас будет рейтинговым.
