Cheaters of Online Preliminary Got Caught in Onsite Regional Round

Hello, everyone!

I want to share something about this year’s ICPC in Bangladesh. Many participants cheated during the ICPC Preliminary Online Round. Some of these participants, who were not even Pupil-level coders, used tools like ChatGPT to solve hard problems and somehow managed to secure a slot in the Regional Round.

However, their real performance in the Regional Round told a different story. Many couldn’t solve a single problem, while others solved only a few but ended up with ranks that couldn’t justify their supposed ability to solve those harder problems during the Preliminary Round.

To those who cheat, here’s my message: Please love competitive programming (CP). If you don’t enjoy it, don’t force yourself into it. Cheating won’t bring you any real success—it’s just a waste of time and effort. Worse, it’s unfair to the hard-working participants who dedicate their time to learning and improving.

Competitive programming is not just about solving problems in contests. It’s about the journey, the learning process, and the satisfaction of overcoming challenges. Cheating doesn’t help you grow as a coder or a problem solver.

Let’s make CP fair and meaningful for everyone. Respect the competition and the community.

Good luck to all honest and passionate coders! :)
