To the Chinese People here

Revision en2, by Clinking, 2020-07-28 15:42:41

Dear Mike and fellow Codeforcers,

Please don't delete this post. It is equally important as competitive programming.

China is the most populous country in the world and yet its not even in the rankings for cases or deaths. Does any of the Chinese intellectuals here have anything to say about this?

Why on codeforces? I think people here won't be jingoists and would be smart enough to realize that its not just efficient control that is behind the apparent success.

Feel free to bash me however you want, but 3 days ago I lost a dear friend who introduced me to comp. coding (he was ICPC world finalist around 10 years ago) and I am just unable to sleep or eat well. So, please tell me what's happening and what can I do to save my fellow humans?

Edit:

Dear commenters,

  1. The last thing I want is for this to become a channel of hate or distrust. Also, I would like you to also keep in mind codeforces' policy so that this is not deleted. I want their perspective because they are the only one who know the truth. I can't believe mere speculations, or rumors.

  2. I request only Chinese people or people who know about them to speak. Others please restrict yourselves. Simply because only they can answer my questions. Otherwise, it will get messy with spams and maybe hate messages.

  3. Thanks for your kind and warm words! However, I just can't forget what happened. I wish to move on but only with a clear mind. I am fine as such but there are these questions, doubts that come that I myself don't want to suppress. Empathy is very important but at this point all I want are answers.

  4. Again, please let Chinese people or people who are related to China answer. Maybe people from countries culturally close to China (like Russia (*not India)) can also share their perspectives.
