Dear MACSO Participants,

We are excited to launch the Second Qualification Round, which is now live and runs from September 1 to October 1. This round introduces new challenges and opportunities for all participants.

What You Need to Know:

3 New Problems Added: The second qualification round introduces 3 new problems. Points from the original 3 problems (A, B, and C) still count toward your total score. Scores will be combined from both rounds, and time will no longer be a tie-breaker. The new problems will become progressively harder, so aim to score as many points as possible on each one.

Separate Rankings for Finals: Participants aiming for the In-Person High School Finals at Brookline Teen Center, MA, will be ranked separately from those competing for the Online Open Finals.

Resubmit Your Solutions: We have set up a new Codeforces competition. If you are a high schooler planning to participate in the in-person finals, you must resubmit your solutions for the existing problems in this new competition. Even if Codeforces shows them as already solved, resubmission is required to be included in the rankings.

Updated Registration Form: We have made some updates to our registration form. We ask that you complete it to confirm whether you plan to attend the finals in person, along with your country and state. Please take a moment to fill out the form here:

Updated MACSO Registration Form.

Score Curve Update: We know many of you are curious about the score curve. We can't provide an exact cut-off score yet due to the new problems. However, the approximate threshold for the In-Person High School Finals is currently about half of the Online Open Finals threshold.

Next Steps:

Prepare well, focus on scoring as many points as you can, and stay tuned for further announcements. We wish you all the best of luck and hope you enjoy the new challenges ahead!

Best regards,

The MACSO Team
