Hi everyone! I noticed a contest called "Go Study Round 1 (Div. 1 + Div. 2)" in the contests page. Does anyone have an idea as to what it is and if it will become a new contest series? I'm hyped for a new contest series :D
EDIT: Seems like they're Putin' it on hold :P
Why is it combined?
We (the authors) think that, if the round is combined, it will be more balanced than the non-combined version.
I think codeforces wants to further devolop other langs and contests styles like Go lang's contests and kotlin heroes ..... In addition to algorithmic contests.
No, you can use any programming language supported by Codeforces.
It wouldn't be rated if so.
I think it is a new series and also like it because combined round gives you more chance to push your rating up.
is this a "golang study round"? If yes, then... Sorry but what's to study here? Golang's syntax is extremely simple, its main study areas are related to goroutines, channels, garbage collection etc, nothing close to competitive programming...
No, it's unrelated to golang.
I would Go Study editorial after each of these rounds.
Nice pun!
Nice pwn!
I am an author of the round. The round is sponsored by a company called Go Study. The "1" indicates that there may be more rounds sponsored by the same company in the future. It has nothing to do with the Go programming language. More information will be present in the round announcement.
Thanks for the info!
Alright boys, time to get good
I dont see it any more, has the round been delayed ? Does anyone know ?
I believe the round has been delayed until they find another LGM tester.
UPDATE: I've heard that they also had problems with their sponsor, likely due to political reasons.
Yes. From what I heard, the round is delayed because the sponsor is reluctant to work with a Russian site during this political climate. Honestly it's kinda stupid, but I understand the hesitation.
Let me make some clarity, since I am quite irritated by how a random opinion is transformed into a truth.
So, I, exactly as X and generic_placeholder_name, only know that the round was postponed because "Sponsor prefers to move the round due the situation". The whole "sponsor does not want to be associated to a Russian organization" is an uninformed wild guess and should not be quoted.
...with Russian site with suffix "forces" in its title...
They're Putin it on hold
Great pun, edited my post!
Maybe the title should change to
Where is the Go Study Round 1?
now. It's a round sponsored by the company Go Study.
By the way, the round is delayed due to the Ukraine situation.
