Hello Codeforces community,

My name is Amir Elarbi and I'm a member of the Tunisian IOI 2022 team along with Amine Ouesleti (StrawHatWess), Hedi Chehaidar (HediChehaidar) and Mohamed Ali Saidane (MohamedAliSaidane).

I want to start by expressing my sincere gratitude for this opportunity. Representing Tunisia in one of the most important international science Olympiads has been a dream of mine ever since I started my journey with the national team. Of course, participating in the IOI wouldn't be the same without the on-site experience.

Naturally, the goal of IOI goes beyond the competition itself and instead centers on the complete experience, which includes meeting others who share your interests, discovering new cultures, going on excursions, and much more.

As you may know, travel expenses to reach Indonesia from Tunisia are very expensive and outside of our budget, given the distance between Tunisia and Indonisia. So, in order to make our dream of attending the IOI on-site, we started a crowdfunding effort. Any donation would be helpful.

Thank you so much to everyone who has contributed; we truly appreciate it. If you are unable to contribute, you can still assist by sharing this post; it will make a huge difference.

The crowdfunding website, which is a local one, is 100% secure. The amount of money in the website is in Tunisian dinars so make sure to convert it to your currency : 1$ = 3,06 DT (Our goal is approximately 4700$).

Thank you for taking the time to read this, and thank you in advance if you decide to help.

UPD: The old link have been closed. This is a new one with the remaining amount.

I've participated in many competitions, but online participation isn't comparable at all to onsite participation. And of course, onsite participation is a lot better in many things, as you can socialize and get to know contestants from other countries.

I hope you can get the money to participate onsite and see you in Indonesia.

I think that you can sell your mobile phone or computer to get enough money to buy a plane ticket instead of asking for money in codeforces. To achieve your dream, you must pay something.

Actually in Tunisia, even selling both of them for the four teammates can't get the required too. I think judging that way without knowing if they did sell or not, and without knowing their economic background is not right. Also there are a lot of people who wish to donate in situations like this. I guess no one will have the ability to get 4700$ by selling their PC's and mobile phones and ask for money on codeforces lol.

For people who know how economic things are bad in Tunisia will totally know that 4700$ isn't a thing that is affordable by a teenager, or even 4, So asking for help on codeforces is very reasonable. Wdym?

Doesn't the government help you with the funding or do things work differently in Tunisia?

Not at all, participants have to take care of costs on their own. We sometimes get help from sponsors but it is unfortunately not the case for this year.

You can delete my comment, but you can't delete my mind! I ask you again that why your parents don't help you with the money? Or you just want to insist your stupid budget?

Man, how old are you? 10? You sound like a child.
Do you think paying for a trip like this is cheap?
Why should their parents even pay for them to represent their country? The country should be responsible for that, and seeing that the country cannot afford it, I see nothing wrong with crowdfunding.

Hello pig mike. You sould like a real pig.

I excatly don't think paying for a trip is cheap.

But Why the country should be responsible? They allow them to take part in online, but they say that they want to participate on-site. And why the person from codeforces should pay for them? Just because their parent don't support them?

I think they should be responsible to their behaviour but not just want everyone can support them even more than their parent.

Read the comments above and you will understand why the onsite is preferable to the online competition.

Also, are they forcing people from codeforces to pay for them? It's called crowdfunding, it's not compulsory to help them.

Finally, work on your English. Reading your comment was a nightmare.

Are you seriously proposing that the expenses should be entirely the participants' responsibility if they can't get support from their government? 4700$ is like 1175$ per participant! what's wrong with asking for help? since when is crowdfunding considered "Taking advantage of others' kindness"? also who's deleting your comments?

Unfortunately there isn't, Tunisia prohibits the use of cryptocurrencies. The laws and regulations governing the use of digital currencies are unclear. We appreciate very much you wanting to donate!
