Hi! Today, at the begining of round #845, I faced some problems with CF. Don't know if it's all about my own connection or anything about CF's servers, but I wasn't aware from it and submitted my code for problem A, which resulted in a loading page. As I saw CF isn't loading, I resubmitted the same code with m1.codeforces (since I thought my previous submission wouldn't be sent at all). And I even stoped loading codeforces.com to avoid resubmission. But the code was already posted and I realized this too late.
Now I'm just thinking... shouldn't be some other rules about penalty of resubmissions? Maybe CF could just check all codes and don't count two submissions with a same code as a penalty? Or just allows any resubmission during downtime of the server?
Anyway, the round wasn't rated for me, and I'm advising these things for future rounds...
I'd like to imagine a catastrofic variation where you continue the contest on m1 but forget about the still loading page on codeforces and it being sent like 10 minutes later, adding to the penalty
Doesn't CF say something like "you have already submitted the same exact code" when you try to submit the same solution twice?
Although it doesn't work with minor changes like accidentally adding a line break or two, unfortunately
Maybe m1 doesn't check?
Can confirm this did happen to me on m1 server before. I sent a private message to admin afterwards and had one submission skipped. As this happens to more people, it would be nice to have the duplicate submission check on the mirror servers.
I'd saved my file and didn't change it at all. That's why I'm saying this, CF should check if there's two codes completly the same as each other, if yes, then probably the codes have been submitted in different sites, so penalty shouldn't be counted.
I think you can ask Mike to skip your second same submission, Many people faced this problem and asked Mike and he did it for them.
Sometimes due to weak net issues, In the first time you submit, it shows 502 bad getaway, And if you check your submissions after that you'll realize that it hasn't been submitted, And then you submit again and face this problem, Also many people have faced this before and unfortunately m1 doesn't check that you've submitted something same before, Like this one : https://codeforces.net/blog/entry/111650?#comment-994527
Not sure if I submitted these on m1 but I once misclicked the submit button twice and they all got submitted (and the first one got skipped, of course for 50 score penalty)
