Hello Codeforces!

I have been doing cp for 8 months now and even if i feel like i have learned a lot of things my rating is not showing the same thing. Moreover It seems like i have the same level as i started back to February.

Some months ago i decided to start doing one Div3 virtual every day and upsolve the problems i wasn't able to do. Strange thing i most of the time perform good but during it but in real contest it not the same.

Last time during Educational Codeforces Round 154 (Rated for Div. 2) i end up solving only one problem but few minutes (5 to 10 min) after the end i was able to solve 1861C - Queries for the Array and i found that my solution for 1861B - Two Binary Strings was good but i loop from 0 to n-2 instead of n-1. That would have make it 3 problems and something like specialist performance since most of them were not able to solve that C

Here is graph of solve problem.

If anyone have an advice that can help me improve feel free to state it in the comment. Thanks

I mean since you're doing well in virtual contests and not in online ones, I'd say you're just nervous and you just gotta find a way to get over the nervousness and not caring about your rating is a pretty good goddamn way. Also if you're sure it's not the nerves, it's probably the way you're practicing and I'd recommend finding a different way to practice.

Try to solve between 1800 and 2300 first.

Even if each question takes you 5 hours

I'm so abnormal (I have a lot of mental issues that affect the way I do things) and still so weak to answer this question.

But PLEASE DON'T LISTEN TO HIM, go and read Benq's and Geothermal's (and some others like neal and just crawl on the web YKWIM!?) explanations about how practicing and some other stuffs.

And please don't ask where are those, just google it OK? cause in that way you also learn something new from searching! JTI.

  1. Try to solve harder problems gradually. If you can solve problems at the 800 difficulty consistently (~80%), just try problems from 1000+ range.
  2. Be honest with yourself. Make sure you truly understand the solution inside out.
