The next update is scheduled for 12 January 2024, when we plan to announce the new ICPC World Finals schedule. The World Finals will not be scheduled before April 2024.
Today is January 13th. Did I miss something, or have they not announced anything yet?
They only said that they'll announce. They didn't say they'll do it publicly.
They didn't send any email to WF contestants. They send it usually.
The ICPC executive director probably announced it to his secretary and called it a day.
They didn't mention the base of the year. So if it is base $$$11$$$, the next update will be 12 January 2688 (cuz $$$2024_{11} = 2688_{10}$$$).
So go touch some grass and comeback $$$664$$$ years later.

I wanted to write the same blog but you sir are more impatient than me
Honestly? I am extremely disappointed by the lack of response from ICPC HQ and the organizers over this matter. I would have been fine even if it was just an email saying "sorry, we weren't able to choose a date, we will update again on February XXth" or whatever.
But no update at all? This is not the level of communication I've come to expect from the organizers of one of the largest and most prestigious programming competitions in the world. So many people have trained and competed hard to secure a spot on this stage, and they deserve to know what's been going on over the last few weeks.
I am so surprised that people call these competitions "prestigious", especially if they are aware of the ACPC.
These things show more and more why we should take our fate in our hands and start organizing competitive programming contests the proper way, just like for example OCPC is doing it. Having a platform such as Codeforces to talk about these things is a good place to start, as while it's not a perfect place, it's a place that allows us to know about all kinds of contests worldwide. I even had a blog on this almost a year ago, in a way foreshadowing what was going to happen.
Things such as what is happening with ACPC or other regionals or what is happening with some Olympiads (one example is Balkan Olympiad in Informatics) and other online contests worldwide with less flagship contests around (GCJ and TCO gone, FBHC/MHC is the only one left) show more and more why this change must happen.
While this is not something that will change in one day, I believe that we can do something and maybe over time organize things better or simply take over some of these contests that are organized by incompetents.
It's Monday, January 15th. Still no updates.
I email'd the organizers and they now say they'll announce something in Friday Jan 19.
New location???!!! Seriously? Why didn't they just change the location and not delay it all this time!!!
The same conditions that made travel to Egypt potentially unsafe in November still exist now. It seems highly unlikely that the contest could be held in Sharm el Sheikh this year. (I've heard rumors that ICPC is considering holding the contest in a different city in Egypt; I hope they switch countries entirely--while I would have liked to visit Egypt, I have little confidence that a contest in Egypt wouldn't get cancelled/further postponed.)
The contest was rescheduled two weeks in advance. There's zero chance the organizers could have made the necessary arrangements to prepare the event elsewhere in that little time, to say nothing of how difficult it would be for contestants to arrange travel plans, get visas, etc.
I am just waiting for them to choose an even worse location.
In before ICPC Rafah Border Crossing
Is there?
Poland
Sure. Areas controlled by Bashar in Syria where u can get striked anytime.
Location must be changed :(
Wow, they answered you. Your are a Hero!
I sent them an email and received basically the same response:
Finally, January 19th arrived.
What is your prediction?
I wouldn't even be surprised if ICPC WF will be held in North Korea.
I don't predict WF to be canceled, likely it'd be held in the year 2069. but I hope it's canceled.
Update: It's now April 14 — 19 at a new location in Egypt, which will be announced on January 31.
