Mindeveloped's blog

By Mindeveloped, history, 6 weeks ago, In English

This idea has came out lots of times but still sadly no changes has been made. So I'm confused and decided to make a blog about it.

Upvote (or downvote I don't care) if you support this. If you have any different ideas you can also comment in comments section.

But some cheaters might realize their wrongdoing and be willing to change
But they will just make new accounts
But there will be false positives

Not really??? I think the same idea has came out a lot of times before, but sadly no changes has been carried out, so I decided to make a blog about it.

Sir, wrt to blogs, this is a 40% shitposting website, 40% spam website and 20% actual CP website. Probabilistically speaking, so very few people ever add anything meaningful to the conversation ;)))

Maybe a silly idea but how about adding a badge to caught profiles which says "Cheater". Like in tourist's profile we have "Ten Years" badge.

I prefer codechef's way of showing it on the rating graph:

See this page if the above image doesn't appear.

plagiarise — take (the work or an idea of someone else) and pass it off as one's own.

I didn't copy anyone's code. Instead, another person managed to copy my code due to the poor privacy settings of Ideone.

The issue was so widespread (see also iceknight1093) back in the day that admins even added it to CodeChef's Code of Conduct:

Avoid using any online IDE’s or code sharing sites like pastebin to share your code. In case you must, the responsibility of protecting your code lies solely with you. If you’re using ideone, you can read about protecting your code on there. Or you can use our IDE.

Can we add a user title called "Cheater"?

You will have a bunch of people who will cheat for it then.

Someone must have mentioned somewhere about LuoGu's way of flagging cheated users: users who cheated have their username become brown for a certain period of time (or maybe it was forever? I don't remember exactly). For example, if I cheated, then instead of the blue name you see next to this message you would see a brown name.

No need to see badges, no need to see rating graph, I think this is the most intuitive way.

If they cheat to flex their profiles in their resume or interview then the "This person is a cheater" badge would ruin it completely

In Luogu if somebody gets a cheater flag he also gets a cheater badge next to his name. (However Codeforces doesn't have that kind of text badge)

I think if you want to convince people who disagree with you attacking them is a bad idea. And when you stylize the counter points LiEK tHis I can only read it as "I'm convinced everybody who thinks this counterpoint is valid has 69iq".

No. Ignoring helps normalising cheating which is evident.

Or may be, we allow only those users to participate in contest who have verified their mobile number via OTP. So in this way cheaters have very limited chances to create new account.

I know people in my college who buy contest services, where they hire someone to increase their rating by giving contests from the customers account directly. How will you solve that problem?
