Israel's strength in competitive programming can be attributed to several key factors:

Strong Educational Focus on STEM: Israel has a robust education system with a strong emphasis on science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) from a young age. This early exposure helps build a solid foundation for programming and problem-solving.

Highly Skilled Workforce: The country has a well-developed tech sector, including a thriving startup ecosystem and large tech companies. Many students and professionals are exposed to cutting-edge technology and advanced algorithms, which contribute to their competitive programming skills.

Military Training: Israel's mandatory military service, especially in elite units like Unit 8200, exposes many young people to high-level technical work, including cybersecurity and software development. This can help hone skills that are beneficial in competitive programming.

Cultural Emphasis on Innovation and Problem-Solving: Israel fosters a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship, often referred to as the "Startup Nation." This mindset encourages creative problem-solving, a key aspect of competitive programming.

Active Competitive Programming Communities: Israel has active programming communities, including participation in international contests like the ACM International Collegiate Programming Contest (ICPC). These communities support the development of competitive programming skills through practice, mentorship, and collaboration.

These factors combine to create a favorable environment for excelling in competitive programming.

Perhaps another reason it may be so: it is because Israel in light of recency, is getting a lot of funding.
