    i don't like the fact that during a rather large portion of the day, random people on the internet can know whether I'm online or not, which website I'm using and when I last used it.

    I can't think of any reason to keep it. It reveals information for the sake of revealing information.

      So according to your statement random people can also see that what questions are you solving , how many questions and what rated question you have solved everything is open so is it bad ?

      Thinking in broader perspective that online status and last visited can be helpful to many , as many times people don't know social handles of the coder so he can message you on codeforces seeing that you are active or not , two big programmers can connect from different parts of world so suppose if an account holder isn't active so he will not text him.

i guess the solution to this is just being logged out unless you want to submit or write a comment. But i agree, why not make it optional
