I have completed my icpc regional contest this season, silver medal. And in 2025-2026 season, I will be a year 4 student, preparing for graduation.

It's time for me to leave. Codeforces is a nice website. Goodbye, Codeforces.

My 2-year competition history:

  • Nov 2022, campus contest, bronze medal.
  • Mar 2023, campus freshman contest, gold medal, admitted to college icpc team.
  • Nov 2023, regional contest, bronze medal.
  • Nov 2024, regional contest, silver medal.

        IDK. I don't think 600 problems is 'few' to become master. In stories, people solve 500 problems and advance to world final. (It's not the case nowadays, but early icpc. But my point is that 500 problems is a lot.)

            I think you need to study more algorithms, constructive structures, tricks, ... and have a good tutor. It's great if you follow courses

                I would love to help you but unfortunately we are not from the same country, we do not share the same language. So it is better to ask the experts,CM, Masters,... in your country for advice.

          $$$500$$$ problems is definitely a lot, but most people simply can't become master after $$$500$$$. I found these graphs online that show that getting master in $$$500$$$ problems is something between $$$85^{th}$$$ and $$$95^{th}$$$ percentile performance.

            Also, there is a lot of info in this study. One thing they found is that solving easy problems actually has a slight negative correlation with rating, but solving hard problems (defined as problems above your rating) has a good correlation with rating. On average, 1 hard problem solved = 1 rating gained.

        Because, he just solve higher rated problems in contest. that's it, simple. it's not matter how many he solved, it's about how he solved the higher rated problems.

In your algorithm competition career, may I ask how many problems you have solved? I would like to reference this for my understanding.

    I estimate

    • Around 600 problems in Codeforces. (Some problems are solved by my teammates in team contest and I have no idea on the problem totally)
    • Around 100 problems in AtCoder.
    • Around 100 problems in college summer camp.
    • Around 50 problems elsewhere.

You have solved 232+ problems in rated contests, I wonder excluding upsolving how much did you practice? Not sure if becoming a master with this much problems is easy!

people talk about 600 figure only with simply ignoring '84' more. When only a few problem can unleash our brain more than the before.
