Whenever I try to log in I get the message "Your current applet version is out of date. Please restart the applet and refresh your internet browser cache". I'm using chrome and I've already cleared the cache and re-downloaded the arena but I'm getting the message over and over again. Does anyone else have this problem?
UPDATE:
The fact that Topcoder is testing a new arena might have something to do with it.
Link to the web arena for those who didn't read the blog post on Topcoder.
NEVERMIND: (They were updating the arena)
It's working now!!!
I am facing the same issue.
can you try this?
open command prompt and type "javaws -viewer" and delete TC cache from the list. Then restart app.
It's not help.
Yep, didn't work for me either. Are you able to log in to the arena?
Any solution, anyone. I too am facing the same problem.
Haizz, the most important part in the link (training problem) is "Coming soon" :(
According to them:
Here is what is currently available in the web arena beta:
Lobby chat
Theme switcher
Registering for a match
Entering a round room
Round room chat
Coding a solution on any of the supported languages
Compiling a solution
Testing a solution
Submitting a solution
Challenging other competitor’s code
Division summary
System broadcast messages
Room summary
System tests
But I am not able to enter a round room, can't even find the option. I don't even know if this refers to current competition room or if it's available for practice rooms too.
I just checked TC forums, so the problem is they are updating their backend, but the applet is not updated, and we need to wait for TC's admin to do that, some one said until morning, but I don't know what timezone he is referring to :)
Did anyone found a solution? its still not working...
The arena was updated to version 7.1.3 today.
Do you start the arena by going to https://community.topcoder.com/tc and clicking "Launch Arena"? You should always do this, because this way the arena is updated automatically. Otherwise you may still have an old or incomplete version.
Arena jars weren't updated to the new version number, which was causing the issue. It is fixed now. You'll need to grab the updated jnlp file.
