Marathon Match 86 "MovingNQueens" is starting now and runs for one week till next Monday. No gigabytes of data to analyze, no machine learning algorithms to implement (probably), and it even has prizes for the top-4 finishers!
(I am the writer. This announcement begs for a Moriarty-style "Did you miss me?" photo, but I didn't have time to take a photo evil enough :-))
I can almost hear the screams of joy from Psyho's house across the ocean...
He participated in 6 marathons in last 100 days; and won 6 of them:)
I think it is not about screams of joy, but rather oh, one more marathon, OK...
P.S. But talking about me — thanks for a problem, it's nice to see some for fun problems, not only all those taken from real life tasks like recognizing facial emotions by pictures.
I'm actually very happy that they are back, even though I'm almost sure I'm not going participate in those. I do ML contests mostly for the prize money (as they aren't really fun), since I need a part-time job and it fits perfectly into my lifestyle. In order for me to consider "non-customer" matches, the day would have to be at least 48h, and sadly it isn't :)
Yeah, compared to customer matches this one doesn't have a prize worth talking about :-)
Are such rounds going to be held on a regular basis now?
In Poland there's a saying "Give a finger to a child — it will take whole hand" :) (transalting saying is probably not an easy task :P)
Though I have to admit that I will be pleased if that would be the case :D.
Interesting... In Slovakia we have the same saying with a beggar instead of a child.
In Brazil we have the same saying but with hands and arms instead of fingers and hands. Maybe this saying is more widespread than we thought.
Here Tim confirmed that there will be more non-customer marathons this year than just the TCO ones.
