Hi all,
Coder's Calendar is a Chrome extension that I've made, which displays details of upcoming and ongoing coding competitions.
It currently lists contests on Codeforces, Topcoder, Hackerearth, Hackerrank, Codechef, CSAcademy, AtCoder & Kaggle.
Coder's Calendar is available for download at:
- Chrome Extension : https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/coders-calendar/bageaffklfkikjigoclfgengklfnidll
Firefox Users: https://github.com/nishanthvijayan/CoderCalendar-Extensions#firefox
Star the project on Github to show your support:
https://github.com/nishanthvijayan/CoderCalendar-Extensions
https://github.com/nishanthvijayan/CoderCalendar-API
Please comment if you find any bug or if you don't like any feature.
UPDATE: As requested by many users, support for AtCoder, CSAcademy has been added Coder Calendar
Sounds great! I'll wait to see how many upvotes you get and then I'll probably install it! Thanks for your effort!
So...what do you think now? :)
It's really good, but I wish there was a way to filter contests by their site or something like that since there are a lot of contests in the list!
Great feature man!! +1 from me!
Thank You.I would be glad if you could rate/review on the corresponding webstore.
wow! thank you!
Great idea! It would be nice if we could select which contest(site) we would like to see in calendar.
Yes,I'm planning on adding an options page where you select the contest sites. It'll be added in the next update.Thank you.
And it would be nicer if we could remove some contests according to will. Like the Project Euler contest on Hackerrank. No use keeping them in the top 2-3 always.
I'll try doing that as well.
Done!
Good job. Now I have other updates for you to do, of course if you want to upgrade your application.
First, GUI of individual contest could be more user friendly. What I mean about it is that icon of site could be on left side (because we read left to right, so we could see that first), next you can change labels like start, duration and end with some icons like start button, stop button and some watch. You could add and end time, too. You don't need day of contest it is unnecessary, because everything is thrown in a small space and we need just one second to move mouse down and click on clock to see a day.
And second big upgrade would be maybe some button for calendar where we could see all contests for one month.
Placing the icons on the right felt more natural to me,probably because I'm left-handed I guess. :) Let me see what I can do.It might take a week or more to make all these changes,I'm kinda busy with exams right now. Thank you for the reply.
This project is a lot similar to this one. Even the app icons are similar.
Yes,the idea is quite similar.I came to know about Challenge Hunt just a few days ago.I does seem rather nice. But I think it is available only in chrome.
Your app seems to be doing a lot better from what I've seen in the comments. I was using Challenge Hunt so far but I'll give it a go.
The best
Thanks mate..Rate/Review/Star it if possible.
Superb app! But some contests like code jam rounds / TCO rounds are not shown. Maybe you can add important contests like these.
Sure.I'll try adding them in the next update.
Done.Update the extension to see the changes.Do let me know if there are any further issues.
Wonderful! Great work :)
Another feature that might be useful: desktop popup before start of each match.
WOW! Great idea and great realization.
Thank You.I would be grateful if you could rate/review the addon or star the github repo.
Great work man !! Since you`re already adding the customization option , this will be of great help to coding community .
Such a simple but a brilliant idea! Thanks a lot, good job man.
Thanks mate.I would be grateful if you could rate/review the addon or star the github repo.
I've already done it. Good luck man :)
How can i make this add-on work on Opera?
I'm planning to publish this on Opera soon. But till then you will have to use this workaround.
1.Go to https://github.com/nishanthvijayan/CoderCalender
2.Download the project as zip or use git clone.
3.Now open Opera.Click View->Show Extensions
4.If Developer mode is not enabled, enable it.
5.Now click 'Load Unpacked Extension' and open the 'chrome' folder inside the project folder.
This should install the addon on opera.Worked for me.( using Opera 28.0)
really awesome. thanks. :)
Thanks mate.I would be grateful if you could rate/review the addon or star the github repo.
its so good but some of the contest are may be not showed. After all its so good and may be if there have any bug then you can remove it.
There is an options page, where you can disable contests from a particular website.
Super! I hope I won't ever miss TC again thanks to that extension and I won't even need chrome :P
Thanks mate. :)
please add hackerrank contests also, they are not showed in the calendar
Hackerrank contests are already there..If you didn't see any it must have been sone temporary server error..Please check again.
i have been using it for the last 4 weeks.....previously it used to show contests from hackerrank, but from the last 2-3 weeks i am not seeing any contests from that site.
Huh..that's weird..Check the settings and see if you have accidentally switched HackerRank off..
If its ON,try switching all options OFF and then ON and see if its fixed.I once noticed a similar bug but I was not able to reproduce it,so I just let it go.
yeah,thanks...that worked
As it turns out,it was an important bug and I'm pretty sure I've fixed it now. Thanks a lot for reporting it.
Good job (Y) !!
You can make "Add to calendar" button add the event automatically to Google Calendar without opening the calendar's web page and waiting the user to press "Save" ... as an update.
I'm not sure if it's possible but let me see what I can do. And if the user is not signed in there's bo other way.
When I close Firefox and open again calendar item disappears. But when I disables and enables it appears. Can't it start automatically ?!
Are you saying that the extension icon disappear every time you close and open Firefox? Or it the contest entries that disappear?
Extension icon disappears.
Seems to me like its a Firefox problem.I've never had such a problem before nor has anyone ever reported anything similar.Try uninstalling the extension and installing it again.
Tried but didn't fix. Maybe I should uninstall and install Firefox
The website at http://codingcalendar.com seems to be down. Is it on purpose or an accident? I liked the website more, have opened an issue for it. https://github.com/nishanthvijayan/CoderCalendar/issues/43
Would that be possible to add AtCoder and CSAcademy here?
Both AtCoder & CSAcademy are supported now
AtCoder contests hyperlinks are not working, please look into the issue. I am using: 1. Google Chrome Version 84.0.4147.105 (Official Build) (64-bit) 2. Coder's Calender 1.5.1 3. macOS Catalina 10.15.6
deprecated in firefox 57 (Quantum release), update the plugin!
Not compatible with Firefox Quantum
The Firefox Add-on is unavailable in the official add-on store. However, you can downlaod it from GitHub. It's a fairly straightforward process. I've documented the instruction here: https://github.com/nishanthvijayan/CoderCalendar-Extensions#firefox
Please add AtCoder too. Great job btw!
Good job. Add Atcoder if possible.
Hi atCoder contests are now avialable on CoderCalendar
It doesn't show Topcoder contests anymore :(
Oh sh*t. I'm at work right now. I'll fix it tonight!
This issue is resolved now
Not all Atcoder contests are shown, please look into it.
Besides thank you for making this tool, i am using this tool for more than 1 year and it is awesome.
i am not able to see contests of codechef even when i have selected it in the websites
It has stopped working -_-
this is not showing live contests or upcoming contests, only the subscribe feature is working
Doesn't work now!
