Deducting tax, Indians get Rs. 8400, 5600 respectively. deathsurgeon spent Rs. 8000 before he got it and in the end, he got only Rs. 5600 :P The moral is, don't sell your chickens before they hatch.
And top 2 Indians do not get a tshirt, which sucks -_-
Deducting tax is part of law applied by the government. It is a usual policy of companies to cut TDS in advance. So at the end of the year if your income limit does not exceed the taxation limits, you can file for ITR (which is very easy and nowadays can be done online). So essentially, it is not any cut in the prize money from codechef. Also I find codechef (Directi) quite responsive in TDS related issues. Essentially, the prize money is same as what is mentioned.
Top 2 Indians get t-shirts. Please feel free to send a personal message to [email protected], me or [email protected] if you don't get it.
Yes, TDS is perfectly alright. I was just pointing it out because I was surprised when I got it(and people can be cautious before giving a huge treat to friends).
And thanks for the nice gesture, but I lost track of which tshirts I have not got. I know that I didn't get one for October 2013 long, but there is no sense in flogging a dead horse :D
Haha! I dont really remember where I spent that amount. Maybe I bought something. Not all of it went in treats! But I did spend a lot more than ₹8000 back then :P Stupid me -_-
Can someone help me with THEGAME ? And prove it, plz.
There's an editorial, you know.
