Ph.D. Position in Algorithms and Machine Learning at Indiana University

Hi all,

We welcome applications from students with strong olympiad background (IMO, IOI, ACM ICPC, TopCoder, Codeforces, etc.). Our group includes some former olympiad competitors like myself (Top-24 in TCO'10) and Yuan Zhou (IOI 1st place, '05; ACM ICPC 2nd place '09). Starting this year we have two Codeforces members joining our program: dyukha and nk.karpov.

Are there positions available for research internships?

    Good question, technically the answer is "yes" but due to all the complications with getting U.S. visas for interns in practice I think we might only be able to do this in very few cases. I would expect the bar for interns to be even higher than for our Ph.D. applicants.
