Less than month left before IOI. Let's share our opinions. I think never_giveup is going to win.

Poland has a pretty strong team this year: two students from this year's representation had gold medals last year. I hope that we will bring home at least 3 golds, ideally 4 :)

I hope that I won't have to lower my expectations after the CEOI :P

And for the winner, I would say someone from Russia or China.

Benq is probably the best contestant in this edition of IOI I laugh when i see people say zscoder or another high rated person on Codeforces that will win

:P zscoder couldn't even catch a medal in APIO you can see that by yourselves

high rating in CF doesn't mean good performance in IOI.

Anyway, i wish the best of luck to everyone.

    I don't want to insinuate anything, but you see, the fact that someone doesn't do something doesn't mean that if they wanted that exact something, they couldn't do it. Say zscoder was aiming for more than just a bronze in APIO (he could've definitely assured himself a medal if that was his sole goal) and he had to choose whether to go all in or not. It might be understandable in that case (and this year's APIO was especially difficult). Just don't jump to conclusions so quickly

    LE: I wouldn't say Benq is exactly low rated either

Predictions for team Belgium:

  • groeneprof gets gold, confirming his runaway victory at the national contest.
  • BrunoPloumhans gets bronze after he once again ignores the easiest task of the contest.
  • arthurmassar also gets a second bronze, but would have got silver with the same code written in C++ instead of Java.
  • streifi gets silver because he read the exact solution to a problem in an article the day before (it was in Russian).
  • WLZ miraculously ends up in first place despite not even making the team.

I predict that, if there is no output-only task this year, Vietnamese will win 1 gold, 2 silver and 1 bronze. Otherwise, I can't predict anything.

    One bad output-only problem does not mean that the next output-only problems will be bad though. Also I'm sure this year's Vietnamese team can handle those tasks better than you might think. I don't think one output-only problem will have that much of an impact to Vietnam.

    Personally, my optimistic mind tells me that they would win 1G3S or 2G2S. Let's see :P
