Hello,

Three days ago I was forced to come back to ITMO (at midnight!) to turn on the server. I was just happy that the night security at the university understood everything and I got into the server room without any issues. It seems the server was overheated and and shut down. Today, I and cdkrot are planning to update a thermal grease in it. We have not done this before (but I watched the video on YouTube). Wish us good luck!

Considering that Codeforces is still working, should we assume that the operation was completed successfully? If yes, then congrats!

Thanks. Actually, partially. It seems we coped with a thermal grease. But the temperature dropped slightly. I've found that there is no air shroud inside the server, it could be a reason. Unexpectedly, but it is not so easy to buy it.

It was failed once again. I took an air shroud from the other (less important) server. But anyway, I have plans to change this server to another more stable (

An air shroud didn't help :(

I completely replaced the server to another and ran memtest for more than a day. It didn't show any memory error. After it I replaced power supply to new and started it (but now if it crashes, it will not affect the system). Let's wait a little.

I'm happy. It worked ~2 weeks without any issues. It seems the power supply was the reason.
