IMO 2020 will be held at Russia in July 8-18 (source), while IOI 2020 will be held at Singapore in July 19-26 (source). As the two places are far apart, it might be difficult and also tiring to attend both (if feasible).

As tmwilliamlin168 is so OP that he would qualify for both, and also some other people will fall into the dilemma of choosing between IMO2020 and IOI2020, so it might be interesting to see what would be your choice, if you get to qualify to both. Please vote here Link

More importantly, I would want to ask Singaporean CPers about if they got news about whether organizers would consider changing the date for IOI 2020, if not, please urge them to :) I would also want to ask this question to Russian dudes, but maybe its unlikely that they will see this post...

Come on, these dates don't even intersect. And the contest is never the very first day of given dates.

Also, a 16-hour flight with 1 change isn't that bad.

I think the problem is that some countries(i.e: Malaysia) requires student to attend the training Camp before IOI, which would makes it impossible for the student to participate in both.

That's up to each country to choose dates of camps well. If they want to combine it with going to IOI (logistic reasons), then that's indeed unlucky — but for sure not something that should push dates of IOI.

I think the hosts will obviously know the collision. But it's hard to change dates unlike online contest, so..

They could change the date of IOI to 1 week earlier.

This is such a strange thing to ask for. Summer schedules are packed af all the time, you should be glad there's no overlap with IMO. Changing the date could just make it worse.

I can't find IMO 2020 schedule, but based on the IMO 2019 schedule, the second competition day of IMO 2020 should be around July 13 — 14. The first competition day of IOI 2020 should be on July 21. There is certainly more than enough time to be able to participate in both competitions, should one be able and desire to.

Given the visible disapproval at IOI 2018 GA of not having the dates of IOI 2019 finalized yet, disregarding the probable impossibility of any change from the organizers' point of view, this will not be well received within the IOI community either I fear.

Is there no co-ordination of dates between different International Science Olympiads? From this it seems like there isn't at all

That's because they assume that there is no geniosities like zscoder who can participate in all IOL, IMO and IOI at the same time))
