I had a very funny conversation with Merkurev few minutes ago. Apparently he needs help for testing some problems but unfortunately he is not using polygon for that. Moreover it seems he forgot at all how to use polygon (I must say myself Polygon UX is far from perfect, but you hardly forget once you use it).
Some of you may say this was scam Merkurev and not the real one, can you spot the definite clue the turn down his cover?
Spoiler
Anyway, beware of random guys in Discord reaching you.
Alzheimer’s is truly frightening.
I don't think rating is a feature for div1 contestants. Okay, div2 people could see its value as a bug...
Also, I went here expecting a roasting of Merkurev for some clumsy thing he did, not this.
Also also, Discord is ran by furries.
I had no idea what to expect, but I'm also disappointed. Scam is boring.
Btw, I registered on Codechef in 2016 :) One may check it with the list of teams in my profile there.
I meant to say, that haven't seen your name as tester or setter in recent codechef announcement here in CF.
I meant that scammer did one more checkable mistake, when wrote that he was registered on Codechef "about a year ago". For myself — I remember participating in Snackdown 2017 quite well.
Now we won't see a_m_h_m winning lunchtime tomorrow. Sad.
He was 2nd in last cook off. CC admin's disqualified him as soon as contest got over.
Why the hell they don't delete his account? Codechef don't have feature of banning someone?
That would probably happen just after repeated cheating.
I participated in OCT/NOV Long Challenge. I think this is exactly what happened?
You should let him believe you will help him, and then send him many WA solutions.
The first screenshot is enough. "question" instead of "problem" or "task" — Indian detected.
Wow. Looks like you have a lot of experience dealing with Indians. Lol. I am starting to imagine how your PM inbox looks like.
"Hello Sir. Could you please tell how to solve this question?" XD
I have no idea what’s supposed to be funny in your comment XD
I guess he meant that not every indian does that. a lot of them do but not everyone. Thanks!
Ah, seriously? Are all spammers Indians?
We have a lot of idiots in India, that's true, but it's also true that we are the second most populous country in the world. Hence, like every other country, we tend to have some bad apples. Just that the "some" isn't actually a few people.
But this kind of generalization is very insulting, considering the fact that India is hell lot more than a few idiots.
You have reading comprehension problem lmao.
Using "question" might imply non-Russian, but Indian? Don't non-Indians use "question"? Nice justification :)
Not really, no. I've only ever seen Bangladeshi and Indians use "question".
nice question
orz
Generalizations are not bad, being wrong is bad. If the guess was correct based on generalization (and it is correct in vast majority of cases), the generalization is actually good. This is basically what machine learning is made of – generalizations
I think, that's another trick of Ahmed Makki who was imposting ikatanic before. And he's not particularly Indian. Unfortunately, matthew99 deleted the blog about Makki's actions.
I am fucking ashamed of my countrymen. My country is just full of scammers and the reputation of India is really licking dirt. FUCK SCAMMERS who put my country's name in disrepute.
Google/Youtube, "IRS Scammer","Tech Support Scammer","Refund Scammer". You will only find Indian guys. Lol.
Reading off a script
"Hello, this is officer JOHN SMITH. I am from the criminal investigation department from the IRS. You need to pay your $1000 taxes in Federal Apple Itunes card or else you will go to federal prison!"
After all these, isn't it ironic that a non-Indian DDOSed cf?
Maybe because doing that requires technical skills somehow.
Just now encountered in situation.
"The person" asked me to do tester of Topcoder Div2 Medium problem, but I know that I cannot do tester because I'm only 17 (TC only allows problem writing/testing for age 18 or above).

No, that's a perfect scambaiting opportunity
Next time someone tries this scam either go along yourself or pretend to involve others (create your own fake account with high rated user name) and make them suffer
This is evil men... but also it's an excellent idea. I thought in how to scam the scammer with little effort, and this sounds just good.
I did that a few months ago, it was fun. Nothing crazy though. Will describe that in a video one day when I have time.
Same guy just sent similar messages to me as well.
Update: I scambaited him for a while. He sent me very easy coding exercises which he wanted me to solve for him (to test problems for a competition he was arranging). I sent him some slightly incorrect solutions. When I asked him why he was scamming people he told me that he was making a programming contest for his university and needed help writing solutions, however nobody would help him if he didn't pretend to be someone else. I told him to stop, because it's not ok to pretend to be someone else. I think he understood and I felt slightly bad for him so I wrote (correct) solutions for the rest of his problems.
Then he asked me for my paypal. He did say that they would pay me at the beginning of our conversation but I thought that was just part of the scam. I received about 12 USD a few days later.
Prize for your kindness :)
Sometimes it is not about preparingprogramming competitions, but about interview questions, or university tests, or even ongoing competitions I presume. It is ok to help other people prepare their problem, but not that ok in the other contexts.
Umgh, so you wrote him correct solutions for some ongoing contest, I suppose. Nice work.
Uugh didn't think about that, but I'm pretty sure not. Some questions were about object orientation in Java and his coding problems were for example "print the sum of all numbers divisible by 3 or 4 in an array". I guess maybe it could have been some kind of interview maybe? I should have been more careful.
What next, you will get a call from fake IRS and will help them scam some older people because you feel bad for scammers?
Which messaging platform is this?
Discord There are several servers about competitive programming
