-a fellow coder(trying to improve) Thanks in advance orz
No you can't give only the coders between 1400 and 1700 are allowed, you are way above my level so i guess i won't benefit you sir ayush mishra orz.

Arham sir, is it ok if I give vc with you? I think that I cannot match your level but I will try my best and I hope you will not reject me like you rejected her :(
Yes...It would be great. I am interested too. But what if we include the other online judges such as Atcoder, Topcoder, Codechef, etc. When there is a contest on either of these judges...We will discuss that. Otherwise, we can try any virtual contest. I hope you will like this idea.
great idea bro , we can include contest from atcoder and cc official like lunchtime cookoff ,
can you send me your number so that i can add you to watsapp group

I'm In
Sir, what is the procedure to join your group ? I really want to be part of it and it will be great honour to give VC with you and learn from you...
All the Best. I will say do earlier educational rounds as virtuals. They will help more.
thanks aryan we will try follow,
Can I join?
Interested. I'd like to join.
I'm in, I have midterms coming up, so I don't know how much time I can spend on contests. But I'll be free in a week.
Interested . I would like to join
Sanket i am sorry but we are already many people now sothat i cannot add more, but i would be happy if someone from you take initiative and make your own group as many are wanting to join us and we cannot.
How can you not add more people? Just ask for someone with coach rights (I could do it) to create a codeforces group and everyone can join it!
Sir tfg it is very nice to socho joined us he has created group and we gave 2 contest there, by saying not add more people means that all group members(watsaap) are saying that adding more members will just make chaos we are already 15.
You don't "give" contests. You take part in them.
I'm not Indian, but it's common with them, and apparently they use it that way due to the equivalent in Hindi:
I'm aware of this. Every common mistake has some explanation, e.g. people confuse "they're" and "their" because it sounds similar. It doesn't mean they shouldn't learn the correct version.
Is it really a "mistake" vs simply speaking another dialect of English?
That's like saying "lift" vs "elevator" or "patronize" vs "patronise" is a mistake, I think.
(I'm not really an expert on "give" vs "take" an exam, just my guess based on what I've seen -- it seems like "give an exam" is the standard way to say it in some regions, rather than a mistake.)
Good question. I think this is called calque (this one is calque from Hindi) and it's very easy to understand for speakers from the same country, but sounds strange (or stupid) for other countries/speakers. Instead, you compared it with words that are different in two countries that both just speak English, I think.
I stand ground that "to give an exam" sounds strange/stupid because it's the professor who gives an exam, or contest organizers who give you a contest, not the other way around.
You have a point that it matters what is understandable. I guess we must accept the fact that people use the phrase "more optimal" or "most optimal", even though "optimal" means best already. But this is something everybody in the world uses, not just one country.
Btw. it happens that a person from Poland says "thanks from the mountain" because this is direct translation of our "thanks in advance" ( "z góry dziękuję" ). It's much more stupid :)
Of course it is. When you're talking to a wide international community, like here, it's a mistake to use English that's significantly different from what's internationally known. When you only say it to someone who naturally understands, then nobody cares.jpg, but that's not the case here. Btw this isn't a dialect.
It's especially important here, when the meaning is completely changed. To "give a contest" can be much more easily understood as preparing a contest for someone else, it even makes sense in the context of this title — but it's completely off. Words have meanings. Stick to them.
Or, if you'd like, we can say that's not a mistake and I'll "give" you $100,000.
Its how changing a simple world may change the meaning, so today's lesson is to understand what we say and be careful about such things. Also who did expected such comments in this blog?
Tbh I noticed but decided it's not worth mentioning, just groaned internally. Then Errichto commented and it sparked an argument, so no way I wouldn't join...
hummm, can i ask a question please, how much time do you spend on reading comments/blogs, i mean its much more addictive than wine and cigarette.
Like 1-2 minutes per hour when I'm not busy, it's very low-effort and not time consuming. Replying is a bit time consuming.
Are you called proGrammar, are not you?
0-0 languages are made to let us communicate, as long as we can understand what he means, its fine if he makes mistakes even worst than what he made here
your right
is it you're's left?
It's leftn't.

It would be great if you could provide link to the contest rather than just the name. Just a suggestion.
Sure i will do that
Can you include the round names as bullet list as it will enhance readability
count me in
