Tired of this?
Or this
Or even this
There is solution for you — cf comment filter. Download this google chrome extension and enjoy clear codeforces.
Details: install extension using this guide. Choose color in popup menu, and you won't see comments by users with rating strictly lower than this color (If there is some answer by high-rated user it won't be hidden).
Maybe I'll do some of following features in future: firefox add-on, customizable list of blocked users, hide blogs (doubt this one).
UPD
Fixed bug with "Headquarters".
What will happen to your extension during the magic period at the starting of the year? Will it still behave normally?
It will break, but I think I can borrow some code from antimagic extension by Golovanov
Make CF ratist again!
Does it hide all the "orz" comments? If yes, orz lessmeaning.
Nice idea, but not yet.
Since orz is red you have to enable comments from legenrary grandmasters only to hide his comments.
Yes, hiding all orz comments is unwelcome.
We also don't want to see comments by red ,please make an extension so that we can see comments of people under specific colour .
He probably can’t see your comment, LOL.
Guys ratism isn't re-
The rating delta gap isn't re-
Will it block MikeMirzayanov's comments because he is unrated? Would be great if users can make a customized white list.
Awesome and handy tool.
Yea seems it's a bug, lol it won't show comments from "Headquarters" no matter what you choose in menu. I'll try to fix it in next update.
UPD: Fixed
bro why bro... we are also people... listen to our doubts......... we also want to improve in CF and get rating 4000 bro.
upvote this so he sees guys plzz
Upcoming tourist
When I choose lets say (blue) I still see comments from low rated users just because they mentioned a high-rated user, an example here.
Very nice work, I have been looking for this forever.
Another bug, thx. (I didn't really tested it carefully)
Is it possible to block Xellos' comments, specifically?
Don't ask, figure out how to do it yourself. (44. The internet is not your personal army.)
@Xellos:There is a reason he is called IHaveBeenToldWhatToDo
Xellos and Kostka plix.
I just looked at my comments and I am not that bad :(
Nobody said Xellos is bad yet
Codeforces has already had a tool that hide the heavly-downvoted comments, why would you open the hidden comments then get disturbed of them? Is the form of the hidden comments disturb you? so your tool should be depending on the quantity of downvotes, not on the color.
Tired of Codeforces lagging because of thousands of submissions? Here are separate servers just for elite Div1 users...
Seriously, I think comments by low-rated coders can be quite good. And who is going to answer their relevant questions if everybody with higher rating (and probably answers) will block them? I think we rather need a stupidity filter, which is not so impossible with current machine learning methods.
It's up to you use it or not
Fair enough, just wanted to bring this up for a discussion.
Monetize your tool by making low-rated users pay to be visible!
Is it possible for you to add the feature to hide users based on their
Contribution
like Let's if I want to hide all users having negative contribution? I think that can work as a better filter. Most times unnecessary/not useful comments are from the users with negative contribution. It's a bit harder to implement without calling cf api from extension (which is bad I think)
lessmeaning Or Instead you can cache out the contribution for users and call your own database and update it periodically when cf is less loaded.
lessmeaning do you plan to implement this in the near future ?
Everyone is inherently ratist but lessmeaning got some huge balls
When are we getting a feature to hide blogs and comments by people suffering from superiority complex such as yours?
This is a great tool, but I don't think it would be that useful because let's say I don't understand some part of editorial, so what I do is scroll down to comments section, where someone have already asked the exact same query, I upvote the guy both happy, so to do the exact same thing I have to constantly turn on/off the feature. So, the tool is not serving its purpose.
Some changes that I have in mind you could also add some features like image block, comments with spam words (such as rip, orz), most important feature i think is you could add is comment length as a filter, also if someone(with good rating) replied to comment if it is already blocked, it would be visible for all, because that person who replied gave his time to explain to everybody. Also you could make the options multiple choice. Thank you for the awesome tool and great effort.
Keep waiting for the extension to hide indians, women and anime profile pics.
WOW great tool, But... How to hide comments like this ?
(This reply is for people who are already using it)
Notice how he was only blue then, so I think that should tell you...
For me, it is interesting to see all the comments in English no matter it is good or not because it is also a way to practice English, and I think people with low ratings don't mean that they all leave meaningless comments so this is some kind of 'ratist' in my opinion.
Here's an idea, block people with higher amount of comments and lower amount of rating, like at some ratio or something. Generally people with many comments and low rating have useless stuff to say a lot of, and are doing more commenting than practicing, while someone with few comments and lower rating will only comment reasonable responses/questions and will likely improve to higher rating soon.
Is this also just an excuse to complain about those types of accounts ;). Yes.
Well, it would be better if comments with more than 50(a customizable number) upvotes is always shown.
but if nobody is seeing it who's gonna upvote even if it is a useful comment .
I just came here to write this thing only to notice that this has already been suggested. I second this and also would like to propose a addition that just like a comment is not shown when of a color below rating, similar thing should be with the downvotes too (I know codeforces does it but completely hiding the comment is much better than just blurring it).
lessmeaning Is there a possibility of this being in the near future ?
i am sorry
It's already great!!
